Verizon hates samsung why?

Why is Verizon always giving Samsung devices (along with all of their customers) the finger?? When the SGSII was coming out, Verizon screwed us by trying to force the crappy Bionic down our throat. Now the Galaxy Nexus is due out soon, and all they care about is promoting the damn Droid Razr (which is at least a little better than the Bionic). What the hell?? Are they just too busy with Motorola's member down their throat to realize how pissed off they are making all of the consumers??

OK, the reason he asked that is because there was story on the net. For those that don't follow Android drama/twitter, supposedly there are 2 reasons it would not be on VZW.

Reason 1 : Verizon wanted to be more involved in the launch (and expected to be). Verizon was angry when Google/Samsung did not want them involved.

Reason 2 : Verizon/Google/Samsung sent out test units. The test units had issues (I think it was with 4G and possibly battery life on 4G, I don't recall).

However, this article explains things better, and why it's still looking very likely that Galaxy Prime will be on Verizon (and probably first of all of the carriers).

**EDIT** Sorry, I didn't read the first post correctly. While the above is true, let me expand. This is a rumor (and also my hypothesis). Verizon is not announcing the Galaxy Nexus yet because it wants as many pre-orders as possible for the Moto Phone (RAZR). This makes a ton of sense in that the average user (that hasn't already bought a Bionic), will jump on the Razr. I think they will only announce the Nexus a day or two before physical launch (or even on the same day as physical launch) to maximize sales of the Razr. Business wise, this makes sense. Remember, the majority of people buying phones don't keep up with new cell phones and just walk into a store or look online and say "Hey, that Razr is thin and looks to be the best". They will sell a ton. Buyer beware. I don't consider this a bad business practice, because that is the reality of business. That said, reason 1 or 2 could cause the phone to never be released on VZW, however I think that is unlikely...

Again, that is all speculation, so take it with a grain of salt.

^^ This. (And the part I snipped for length.)

It appears Motorola and Verizon have pretty much given up on the Bionic already. It was already part of the $0.01 sale via Amazon barely a month after launch. They've shifted about as many as they can and the RAZR is going to destroy any remaining interest in the Bionic. Still, RAZR needs its time in the limelight before the Nexus hits, so it gets its announcement now.

Bear in mind the Galaxy Nexus still hasn't landed in mainstream consciousness. Sure, it's had an article or two in the tech sections of CNN and MSNBC, but even the mention of Android 4.0 and NFC and a shiny new Google phone don't make an impact on the public in the way an Apple announcement does. It's only getting particular attention amongst those of us who are rabidly following phone developments right now. (Hell, it hadn't even landed in the consciousness of Verizon reps in NYC yesterday: "Oh weird, you're the 3rd person who's come in asking about that phone today... I haven't heard of that one before.")

RAZR, on the other hand, has some ridiculous brand recognition. That phone *will* reach mainstream consciousness quickly with little additional promotion simply due to the name. So Verizon captures a month's worth of RAZR buyers who pick it up on name alone, assuming it's Verizon's latest, greatest flagship phone... and with no awareness that the Galaxy Nexus is right around the corner. Meanwhile all the techies and fanatics who know what's just over the horizon lie in wait for the Nexus, and Verizon only promotes it to Joe Public once they can no longer keep it under wraps.

OK. More info. It looks possible that there may be a delay with VZW. Supposedly it is due to an issue with 4G. There has been alot of twitter action on this today (mostly P3Droid and Miami, both notable in the android community). None of this is confirmed as of yet, and they may iron out the issues before the supposed release date of the 3rd or 10th (depending on what you read), but they have both been reliable sources in the past (P3/Miami). Miami even said something to the effect on twitter "I wouldn't sell your current device to get a Galaxy Nexus on Verizon just yet" (paraphrasing).

Or, it could be exactly what I stated above and they don't want to screw Razr sales. Like I said, I tend to believe them (more familiar with P3Droid), but I guess it will be an interesting wait until something is announced.

It's business, nothing personal against Samsung. Verizon thinks it will make more money selling the RAZR than the Galaxy Nexus.

While the RAZR isn't going to impress the hardcore Android fanatics, it is more appealing to the mainstream consumers because of its elegant design, strong branding, and is more enterprise friendly. It's going to sell like hotcakes.
