Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

Sorry in advance if this has already been asked but I've been searching and can't find an answer. When I start up CWM I get the following messages:

E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log

Then when I try to install cyanogenmod I get these messages:
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E:Can't open /sdcard/update-cm-7.1.0-TG-0.3-Beta-Triumph-signed.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.

Can anyone help me or know why it's doing this? Thanks

about the recovery errors... the first one seems like the error that a few people were having before and it was declare "not a problem" but i still recommend getting the latest clockworkmod version.

as for the install error... it was just a bad download. re-download and try again. i guarantee it will work! :D

This isn't a valid solution! The app keeps a wake lock, which keeps the phone from entering a wake state and hence doesn't put the Wifi to sleep. Yes it technically works, but now your phone isn't sleeping when the screen shuts off at all and you will have a huge battery drain!

I wouldn't call it a valid solution, but it is a much better workaround than changing the suspend action to completely disconnect WiFi every time the phone sleeps- stock doesn't disconnect WiFi when it sleeps.
I ran this "fix" all day yesterday and all day today and I can definitely say that the battery life (using MIUI) is still much better than stock. I'm 6 1/2 hours off the charger with 80% battery life.

Choose "install zip from sd card" instead of the install update option

I get this every time, no matter what version of CWM I have on my phone it shows up. I spent a lot of time searching for an answer, and didn't find anything definite. It still works just fine and I have never had an issue with it other than showing those errors. From what I can tell it isn't a big deal.

Thanks for the help guys, but I'm still having trouble.

PsyberS: I'm using the version that is on the front page of the forum that Tickerguy provided the link for. It's only version 4.0.1.5 but he says it supports ext4 and I don't see anywhere to download a version 5.

Streetpounder: That is the option I chose and that's what it says

ziggy46: I just re-downloaded it and tried again and the same thing happened

Omg way to be overdramatic! The drain on the battery is miniscule at worst... and definitely not 'huge' as you claim. An ideal solution? No... but its still a lot better than what we were dealing with. This will do nicely for many of us until Tickerguy or someone else can figure a solution to a very annoying problem.

My thanks again to whoever discovered this workaround...

It's not going to drain the battery materially worse than if/when it gets fixed. Wifi is a PIG - all you get by leaving it up is the screen LEDs are off.

I personally hate this feature and shut it off in the Wifi options anyway, but since people like it I will continue to chase the problem - this app does appear to work the profiling I did on it (brief) doesn't show it chewing the battery any worse than I'd expect with the wifi chipset up.

Is this what you're looking for?

In the terminal emulator:
$su
#cat /proc/kmsg > /sdcard/kmsg.txt

As long as you leave the terminal emulator open it updates kmsg.txt. It worked when I tried it, but since I don't know how to interpret it I don't know if it will help.

Good luck and thanks for all you've done so far!

It doesn't flush often enough.

I will probably have to write me a little program that does this and flushes on each write and maybe closes and reopens the file too.

Me too, and likewise it has never caused a problem. Lemnefresh's trouble just looks like a bad download.

Here is the ClockwordMod page with the latest recovery image and instructions. You can get it there and at least eliminate the version being the issue. If you still get the errors with this version, then there is something else wrong. :)

Dumb question but does increasing the SD Cache mess with anything? I ask because I used an app that allowed me to change the size so I ran a Quadrant test at 128 with a score of 2371. I then changed the size to 512 and ran the test again with a score of 2672. I actually did this test because I did not think it was actually going to do little if anything and was just curious. Could the results actually be because of other things going on in the background and if the increase is legit is it safe and will it affects anything else that may be going on with the Rom. Either way I

Okay, I had the whole battery issue too. My phone turned off at 52% due to low battery. It was exactly at 52% when I flashed the Beta (10/22), I was coming from the Alpha (10/16). I did a full wipe and clear cache.

Do you think this was the move from Alpha to Beta or would it have happened with any of the updates? I suppose each time I put on a new build I will make sure it is fully charged, Do the full wipe, cache then the battery stats.
idk i always wipe my system, cache, dalvik cache, and battery stats.
then i install my rom and gapps

Thanks for the help minikirchner but I installed that version and still no luck

I did some research and found a forum for the HTC Thunderbolt. A lot of the users were having the same problem when it came out. They had to go back to the stock recovery and wiping the /cache fixed the errors. I would hate to say you will have to make a Nandroid Backup, revert to the stock recovery, and wipe the cache. Then reinstall CWM and your backup. Also wipe the system, cache, and the Dalvik cache.

However, I haven't had many issues with mine and haven't had to troubleshoot much. So I would wait for a confirmation with someone else to do that. I don't want to be responsible for ruining your phone.

Here is a mirror link to download the B3 file. This one is guaranteed to work because it's the one I used. If that file doesn't work then I don't know what else to try. Sorry!

I seem to be having issues with the apps continuing to run after I close out of them and kill them in task killer on my phone. Even if I make one call the dialer app continues to run. I have had the phone unplugged for 3 and a half hours and it is down to 55%, 23% of the use came from the dialer. So out of the 45% that has been used the dialer used over 10%? I made a 2 minute call!! The camera and gallery app have done the same thing.
