Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

I try to send a picture, and it just sits at sending, this is with GOSMS, I tried it with the stock app, and it went fine.
It is entirely unreasonable to expect me to support third-party applications of this sort and reporting it as "broken" when you lead me and others to believe it's the stock app that isn't working is not helpful.

The stock SMS/MMS app works fine and has for quite some time going back to the early Alpha releases. Third party applications may or may not work, and I have no idea what they're doing. Be aware that Virgin does some odd things with their MMS implementation and there were a significant number of changes required to get it to work - a third-party app that is not aware of these won't work - period.

MMS works fine if Wifi is turned on - it will hit the 3g connection to download or upload the MMS. I use this literally daily and have had zero trouble with it since I fixed it back in the early days.

Okay thanks for clearing that up. For me, it was the stock app that wasn't being able to send or receive MMS with WiFi enabled. This was true on the stock ROM as well. And third party messaging app works fine.

It more than likely just may be my area. I am in a semi-rural area with fringe area 3G coverage.
Thanks again.

When I try to take a picture with the front camera, it force closes, and the camera doesn't work until I restart. I'm not bitching at you. I'm just reporting this, to see if anyone knows why.

just tried mine, works fine. just wondering why you would want to take a pic with the ffc the quality is crap.

try restoring default settings and try again.

Its hard to take a pic of your self with the screen not in your view. That's why we have ffc and bfc the quality is alright to take pics but not good if you want HD. I'm also happy that I can video chat.

Well I love CM7 so far. I havent had any problems until now. Every update I have done, I just wipe /system and then install the zip. I was on B4 and went straight to B6 (I figured that was fine), and when I went to reboot it just hung at the red Motorola symbol and never booted. I used my nandroid backup to go back to B4 and I tried it again with the same results. I am redownloading B6 to see if I just got a bad download. Is that likely what happened?

It's hard to say without a logcat output. B.06 made the move to 2.3.7 which could be the reason why it wouldn't boot. However, I doubt that as there wasn't anything that was radically changed between 2.3.5 and 2.3.7.

could it be your battery is near completely drained, or out of calibration? I just had similar issue, I took out the battery for 30sec or so, put it back, let it sit in the phone and charge it for 5min, then it turned on(MIUI) and it was fine.

Ya, It's hard to say what happened. I did a full factory reset and then reinstalled it and it's fine. Unfortunately, my nandroid was a little old, so It will have to take some getting back to the way it was. But that happens every once in a while. Weird!

Thanks for checking. I'll just have to keep looking around for a solution, I just noticed that no matter what I do, I can't add any new contacts. Bummer.

not a great solution, but for now you can just login to your google account on your computer and add contacts on there. should sync up to your phone.

p.s. @tinkerguy thanks for all the great work!

Oddly my phone is working great. No issues that I have seen but mine does not show 2.3.7. It still shows 2.3.5 and I have installed B.06. Do I need to re install? Did I get all of the install?

Never mind. I wiped my sd card clean and did a clean install and it's now showing 2.3.7.

I just wanted to post i just went to b.06 the other day and before that i was running 10.2 i believe it was. For the ones that are having issues you may try going back to stock and then just flash/load b.06 on to your sd and use clockwork to install from sim. just follow the directions in first post. be sure to clear your caches and system also. i have had no issues what-so-ever with b.06. Awesome work ticker and isaac!

On Beta 4 with my wifi TX power also capped at 10mW (it`s 30mW stock I figured I`m in close and don`t need the extra power when on wifi) and cpu settings of 368min 1024 max on smartassv2 governor my power consumption has slowed tremendously and the responsiveness is spot on. Awesome work as always Ticker!!!

Tickerguy what do you think about this? Is bringing the min processor speed up ok and do you think it would help as well?

Just to keep our observations objective here, I think it is important that we have a way to actually measure our battery draw. There is a free app on the market called "CurrentWidget" that will monitor both the draw and charge current in our phones. It can be set to poll at any interval (by default it polls every 60 seconds) and will show via a widget what your current draw is. On my Triumph on Beta 4 with just data on and the screen off my draw sits at 24mA......while with the phone on the lowest brightness with just data on it's at 120mA. I'd be curious to see people report back their draws and see if we can determine an average draw. It would also be interesting to see what people see if you are still on an older version of TG's rom.

There is also a neat feature in CurrentWidget that allows you to log your readings so you can look at the end of the day and see trends in your power draw and you can start to tie those trends together with what you're doing through out the day. Just remember that it will show current if you are plugged in too....so what it shows while your charger is connected is the charge in mA going into your phone.

So check it out and let us know what you're all seeing in terms of draw.

Downloaded! I'll let you know. I would be very interested in the difference between tickerguy's finished product with all the tweaks and apps for power managent and stock Froyo.
