I am currently on Version looking for contract extension. I am looking @ thse phones. Can anyone suggest which one should I go with.

1. HTC INCREDIBLE 2 : Good battery life , 3G
2. HTC Thunderbolt : Poor Battery life, 4G
3. LG Revolution: Better Battery Life, 4G

I feel I do not want to scarifies battery life for 4G

You can turn off the 4G radio in the phones when not using it and save battery life.

I noticed a improvement in battery life with Gingerbread and the new radio. Small, but noticeable. Also, depends on how you will be using the phone throughout the day. Just having 4g on isn't going to suck all the life out, but if you are a heavy user of the internet or games, etc. it will eat it up pretty quick. If you root the phone (very easy now) you can run AOSP and get even better battery life.

I've had such a disappointing run with the Thunderbolt in the last couple of months that I can not suggest it or ANY HTC product. That is how strongly against it I am. I love love love the 4G. I jumped on the TB in April and had no issues. Until about Sept. No I didn't get the first run of the update but it seems like since the end of August/early Sept all of the issues I've read about with the TB have manifested themselves. Maybe HTC and the TB have left a bad taste in my mouth, but at this point I would NOT get a Thunderbolt 2 (whatever they decide to name it officially) and I would also wait on the Razr and any other new tech until we see how it performs. It pains me to say this because I really do want the Galaxy Nexus with ICS when it comes out. But pre-orders for announced untested devices, forget it. Wait til they hit, see what kind of issues they have and 3 to 6 months after release (once the price drops kick in) that's when I'd say to jump on the deals.

The Thunderbolt, being the first 4G phone, is likely to have the worst battery life stock of the phones listed, simply because it has the most kinks to be ironed out for being the first one out of the gate. It does get much better battery life rooted. I guess the question is what do you consider to be great battery life. A day? Two days? I've pretty much been gotten used to charging my smartphone every night and getting after getting a standard day of use.

In 3-6 months something else will come out and you'll want that instead.....

My experience with the TBolt is the total opposite of Balmdroid's. My Tbolt has been great and I've had it since it was launched. My recommendation, however, is that you check out the Rezound/Vigor instead only because it will be a newer phone and it is dual-core. It may need an extended battery since 4G does use up the battery faster but with the extended battery it is not an issue. You can also simply turn off 4G when you don't need it and save battery that way. But, in the end, my recommendation is to wait for one of the newer phones.

I would personally choose the thunderbolt, but thats just me.

i am a pretty heavy user (about 4-5GB data per month) maybe 15 minutes worth of calls/day and maybe 20 texts/day. some games, but mainly music streaming and forum browsing. It been a while since i have ran a stock ROM, but with a basic sense rom i can get 15 hrs of battery (stock battery)
i also bought a spare battery and charger off amazon, so if i know i am going to be away from an outlet for a long time, i will just take the other battery with me. swap it in and i have a full battery again. it was $15 and well worth it. i will no longer worry about battery life any more. I want a HUGE screen, powerful processors, great cameras, great software, and 4G....thats it. as long as i can charge a battery faster than i can drain one, i will be OK with whatever battery life this phone gives me.

Wait for the Razr. 11/10

If the Razr didn't have a locked down bootloader and an irremovable battery I probably would've already preordered one. I'm still up in the air about being able to root my phone and also about having access to my battery, but I still want to see what the new Google phone and the Rezound/Vigor/Thunderbolt 2 have in store. I hear ICS is really slick so you won't miss HTC Sense if you go with the Google phone. The Rezound also looks too similar to the Thunderbolt so it may not be a different enough phone for me cosmetically to feel like I got something new. Out of all 3 phones though, the Razr looks the sleekest. And the HTC with an extended battery also looks kind of fugly...

what phone with an extended battery doesn't look Fugly? lol
FWIW, the locked bootloader on the razr is fine by me...my Droid X was locked down and that has CM7 along with a lot of other ROMs available for it....just no kernals (but the stock one could be overclocked and undervolted easily).
but the irremovable battery is a killer for me. i am a heavy data user so i go through a battery in 10 hours easily. but it takes me about 2 minutes to pull the dead battery, and replace with a fully charged one. carrying an extra battery doesn't bother me at all, dont even notice it really.
