So, a co-worker of mine saw me using my phone, and let me know about CarrierIQ (I named it wrong in the title). I had never even heard of this but the idea of it is...disturbing. For those that never heard of it like me - it's basically a 3rd party app that runs silently on your phone all the time collecting data from your phone including calls, texts, emails, passwords, apps opened, etc...and supposedly sends them to their own servers from your phone and there's no way to see the running service to stop it from your phone

For those that DO know what this junk is - do you know is it something that comes on this phone? And has anyone figured out how to get rid of it? On one hand - I'm like who cares? It's most likely computers analyzing all of the data anyway, not people. And on the other hand - I'm sort of peeved at the thought of apps being put on consumer phones without our knowledge of it and with no way to remove it. So I guess it is what it is, but it's still wrong...and I hope the company gets sued for invading privacy of consumer without their knowledge.
