'Mind telling me how you managed to overclock a phone with a locked bootloader?
I'll probably be ninja'd on this but you don't need to unlock the bootloader to overclock, you just need root. That's one of the reasons why I don't get to worried about locked bootloaders because with root I can do pretty much whatever I want to do.

Him: "we were supposed to get them in this morning but we didn't, (no mention of a delay) we usually get shipments Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, check back those days to see if we got them or not."

Jeez, this thread is growing faster than I have seen thus far. I'm sure once we start getting emails once Verizon announces availability, we'll probably see the limits of a PHP-based forum. 
I haven't received an email from neither Google nor Verizon for "more information" on the Nexus. At least not yet.

The day is still young, but I find it funny that Verizon was seemingly able to communicate to all various outlets not to sell the phone today, but can't communicate one simple message to the customers about what the deal it.. Just a simple "Hi Nexus waiters" at this point would make me happy.

they've responded to social media twice already, the confirmation that they are getting the phone after google didnt mention them by name on stage and the google wallet situation. if this trends they WILL respond! #VZWNEXUSFAIL

You don't need a "unlocked bootloader" to flash ROMs (kernels). What you CANNOT do is load a completely new OS (android) because the boot section of the phone is locked and will always try and boot into the original OS.
So any ROM on a locked bootloader phone is simply a tweak of the original android build for that device.. Thats why all Moto ROMs still have traces of Blur..
Droid 1, not locked so it can run CM. Droid X has the 2init exploit so it can also run CM with its locked bootloader..

Well, I guess this is kind of good news for me. Next Wednesday I will be testing my T-Mobile service again at the new house. If I can't get service, on Thursday after closing on the house I'll go walk into a VZW store and get me a Nexus.

I just find it hard to believe they are trying to save face. You save face to avoid a big uprising which they already have. I think your reasoning for the irony shows exactly why this is not the case.
SOMEONE is scrambling to get something fixed, my guess would be Samsung (everyone else is taking a guess so I figured I would too). VZW can't put pressure on Samsung by announcing a release date given VZW is obviously the reason the game has changed (with the other versions of the Nex released) whether it be the network isn't meshing, or a certain quality/standard request imposed by VZW.
I still think if VZW was at fault AND was in charge of whatever fix is required they would have announced something by now.
