All Android updates come from Google. For phones with manufacturer UI skins, the updates pass to those companies and are adapted, then move to the carrier for testing and compatibility. For the Nexus, which runs vanilla Android, the update only has to go through the carrier.
Agreed. However, being a Nexus, we should be able to grab the updates directly from Google when they come available, no? (Rooted and Unlocked might be necessary)
