Hey guys, family time over, and just picking up some dinner then home to celebrate properly. I am trying to decide how to write my closing post. After two full months of non stop posting, plus sporadic posts prior to that, this thread deserves my best. I have a great one for BB, yall are gonna love it ;)

The lines have started to form outside of Verizon stores - now we finally know why Sad Keanu was so sad. Hopefully the Nexus will cheer him up!

Moral dilemma here:

I have been calling and emailing non-stop about getting my 12/28 upgrade moved up early (all of the other lines' upgrades aren't until late next year either). I was having no luck at ALL. Well today, I called yet again, and the person said that the main line on the account had an early upgrade available (which was not the case yesterday), and that I could use it on my account. I was so excited, and the CSR said she would call me in the morning to place my Galaxy Nexus order (we made an appointment basically).

So, I checked online to verify that the line does indeed have an upgrade, and it does! Then I thought, wait, why don't I just go buy the phone in stores tomorrow instead of not getting it until Monday?

Should I be nice, and give the person who helped me out the sell, but not get the phone until Monday, or should I just ignore the appointment and get the phone tomorrow? I'm leaning towards tomorrow and feel kind of bad....

Do what you want to do, if it was me I would go buy it tomorrow.

If she actually made the extra effort to move the primary's date up, then that is a moral dilemma. If she simply found out that it's available, you shouldn't feel bad going for it in-store.

So I actually contacted that guy from the Ebay listing who was asking $1200 for his Verizon GNex.. lol. Wouldnt take anything under $1000.

I know he sold it. I feel soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad for that guy who bought it. He got it on Tuesday, two days early, and im going to scoop the one I have on hold tomorrow at 930am.. lolololol.

I guess if you have the money whatever floats your boat but I would be sick to my stomach seeing that it is official and I paid atleast $300 extra for two days early.

Still waiting on a couple answers if anyone feels like answering! Thanks!!!

2) Should I allow them to open and activate, or wait to do it myself?
- I've never activated a phone by myself, but if they don't make it mandatory to have them do it, I'd kinda like to be the first person to hold my particular device. Is there any other upsides or significant downsides to either option?

4) How much money should I bring?
- Does anyone know if it'll be more than the $299+tax? I have no discounts or anything to be applied and I won't be ordering any accessories or extras.

5) Is there anything I should do to my current phone, a Droid X, in preparation of switching over?
- I know all of my apps will be available once I sign into my Google account on the Nexus. I don't care about old text messages or pictures. Anything I'm forgetting? How do I know all of my contacts will transfer (some are Google and some are device only)

*If these have been answered while I was drafting this post, I apologize. I'll remove any questions that have been answered as I did with questions #1 and #3. Thanks so much to any of you that take the time to help lil ole me out!!!

Ok guys, I am not normally the sentimental type, but I have a few things that are important for me to say to the group collectively.
As most of the folks that have been here since the beginning already know, I have been waiting for an upgrade since early June. I had a Samsung Rogue that I loved until my needs out grew the functions. My ex wife decided to get drunk and throw it across the room and it was never the same again. The GSII was next on the horizon and I was hooked. I scoured the internet for information and came across the Android Forums. This is where my life changed.

I lurked in the GSII forum until the day that Verizon announced they were passing on the GSII and I was crushed. This takes us to late August, and I am sure I am not alone in this thread of those waiting for the GSII only to be shat on by Verizon, and told to keep the faith, because they passed for a better phone.

It’s pretty much well documented history as far as the facts go from there on out, but this thread began just days before that, so I lurked here for a while and was sucked in by the most amazing group of NAexaholics that could have ever gathered in one forum. At the time, we all believed in the Nexus Prime as it was rumored, but regardless of the name of this phone, we all knew it would be epic. None of us could have ever imagined the Roller Coaster that would take us on so many ups and downs, but I wouldn’t change a thing. The last few months have been the greatest and most horrible days, only to be followed by the greatest moments again. It truly has been an honor and privilege to have been a part of this diverse group of lovers, haters, geeks, nerds, naysayers, killjoys, skeptics, and eternal optimists. Not to mention those that diagnosed illnesses, addictions, vices, and temptations because of this thread.

Thank you to Steven, HanSolo, Baby Blues, Blue Biker, Antimoney, Early Mon, The Chief, Of the Damned, Nj20vette( I am typing this from memory, and hope I got that right), Coach26, Cereal Killer, and sooo many more of you that I can’t think of off the top of my head. Without a doubt to Phases and Rob as well for providing us the arena for the most epic thread, for the most epic phone release to date, IMO.

To Verizon: Thank you for finally coming to terms with what your faithful customers have desired all along, but please get your proverbial heads out of your proverbial asses from now on, and have a little transparency with the folks that pay your salary next time. You have my money for the next two years. What you do with that money will determine whether or not you ever get it again, and you have a lot ground to make up after this.

Awesome post, man. I, for one, am glad you returned. I felt terrible that you left after my 20th rant-and-leave.

I have some news for those on a buget like myself. I just called Verizon and asked the rep on the phone about the $100 promo. Said he hadn't heard of it. Told him I was upgrading from a 3G to a 4G. Gave him all the data that I learned here...that it started March 17th and ends on Dec 31. Well to make a short story longer he found it and said " yes since you are due an upgrade you do qualify" He noted it on my account which is all he can do. In order for me to get it I must call them tomorrow and order my upgrade by speaking with a rep and they will apply both promo my $50 to upgrade and the $100.

That was the good news. The bad news is I will get my phone by Saturday but I will save an extra $100!!!

Just to check I called the corporate store and they both said the phone is being released tomorrow and that I need to order directly from Verizon and have it sent to get that $100.

Just wanted everyone to know. Can't imagine what it would be like to be at the store tomorrow and be able to get the phone but not able to get the additional $100 off.

Hope this helps.

2) It's easy to activate on your own...but also nice to walk out with it working...your call

3) Where did you go?

4) bring 299 plus tax (unless you want to help someone else with their purchase)

5) Hope someone else can help
