Didn't see a thread for this kernel so I thought I'd make one. I've been having a difficult time finding a kernel that gives me good battery life. I use my phone very heavily (upwards of 4+ hours screen on time most days) and every kernel I've tried has been awful for me. I've been using it since last night and it's great so far. Been off the charger for 3 hours and I'm sitting at 87% battery. Best I've seen on any kernel I've tried, YMMV, though.

The newest kernel is a test kernel based on 3.0.17 Linux kernel you can find it within the thread or HERE

Cheers!

If coming from any kernel other than stock make sure to d/l and flash the "revert to stock kernel" first. It's in the OP of the thread. Most kernel dev's modify ramdisk, Faux's kernel doesn't do anything to ramdisk and those mods interfere with his build. Using the revert kernel before flashing will give you optimal results

Going to give this a go. I've been using Leankernel1.5.0 and it's been the best I've found so far, but I could definitely still use more battery life, especially on the days I have some spare time between classes.

Edit: Just to be clear, I'm coming from leankernel and AOKP M2, so I want to flash the Reset kernel, then the 4.0.3 kernel at the beginning of the post, tuna 0.0.9 right?

What I did: dnld colonels :p, reboot into recovery, wipe dalvik cache, install reset 4.0.3 kernel, reboot. Let it boot up. Reboot into recovery, wipe dalvik cache, install .9m (well I'm using .9m) reboot. Let it boot up. Reboot normally.

ymmv and I've seen others say they flashed both the reset kernel and .9m in one swoop and have no issues.

Battery life on .9m is definitely back to normal (from 1.6 and 1.6.1 and 1.6.4 imoseyon), and it's very smooth. For me, Faux's .9m is like imo's 1.2 and 1.4

Best battery life for me so far has been imoseyon's 1.2.0 and franco's #10. Haven't tried imoseyon 1.6.6 nor franco 12

I've been using 10 beta 2 for a number of days now and it's been the best for me for stability and battery life. The other day I got 14 hours up, 2.5 hour screen on w/ 20% battery left before I put it on the charger. Yesterday/today I got 19 hours up and 2.25 screen on.

For what it's worth I've been running it at 350|1.06 on Interactive per Faux's recommendation

Very good info I'll try this at week end. I'm back on imoseyon 1.2 now and I can't kill the battery! :D

I just switched to it from Lean kernel 1.6.6. I flashed Faux's reset kernel first and then his newest kernel, v10 mainline. On some boots, I'm having problems with the camera not working. I just get a black screen. I saw he said camera problems were fixed with v10 so that sucks that apparently they aren't and hopefully he will get it fixed soon, but other than that it's very smooth. I'm having a hard time deciding whether I want to keep this kernel or go back to Lean kernel. I'm gonna monitor battery life for a few days to decide. My rom is AOKP build 19

I was using v10 mainline since last night with AOKP build 19 rom. I just jumped ship due to some issues. Not sure if it's the kernel or rom but every other boot, my camera wouldn't work, and I also got a random reboot while downloading an app in the market.
I was gonna go back to imo's lean kernel 1.6.6 but as highly as jbdan talks about version 1.2, I flashed that instead. So far, so good.
