Hey everyone. I'm in the process of switching phone companies and switching phones as well. My new phone is different (current phone is CDMA) so I did a backup of all of my apps using Titanium Backup. After doing so, (on the Backflip) I went ahead and rooted the phone and installed CyanogenMod 7.1 with the Google apps following these instructions:

I installed the Google Apps so I can have the marketplace as well. After doing so, I checked the phone and noticed a small lag. I went ahead and disabled as many items I didn't need in the ADW launcher and also disabled items in the system settings in Cyanogen (such as setting the CPU governor from LAGFREE to ONDEMAND).
After doing so, the system became more responsive and worked faster. Now, when I re-installed all of my apps using Titanium Backup, all the apps got loaded without issues. My problem is that when I do a restart on the phone (which will happen when I activate/transfer my number over to Simple Mobile), the phone freezes up and becomes unresponsive despite how long I leave it to let the processes to run. Sometimes an error shows that ADW launcher stopped working (about 45% of the time only after a reboot) and sometimes I wait for the launcher to reload itself and other times I force close but it doesn't do any difference.
My question(s) is this: Is this a common issue with this version of CyanogenMod 7.1? if so, what are the work arounds/fixes to prevent the OS from freezing up after a restart with new apps downloaded? If not, then is there a better CyanogenMod, or different rom that I should use?
Or should I keep the stock rom, upgrade to the latest version available to the phone, and root it? I'm in a bind and hopefully someone can assist me in this matter.
