Help Netflix?

I tried flashing the Netflix HD apk from XDA and although it flashes and opens, as soon as I go to play a video, it pops up the "a newer version is available" message. If I try to install that, it tells me my device isn't compatible. Is there any way to turn off this update check so I can at least watch something? :thinking:

I'm running the official Netflix app. Works fine. Recommend uninstall XDA version / reinstall the official app.

Hmm it must not like AOKP

Is there a work around for rooted/custom ROMs?

I'm running netflix fine on my aokp. What IS netflix hd? Curious.

edit: just looked it up. I couldn't tell the difference in the comparison stills. Blame it on my age.

It was a version of the app that had HD support. I'd be fine with SD if it worked. I'm using a custom LCD density, but I set it back to 320 and cleared the market data but it still showed as not being compatible.

i believe it was the original netflix hd apk that came out before all the builds for it were established, you would need to uninstall it, reinstall the market version, then open applications menu, go to the netflix app, and wipe the data and cache from it, and it should open then

The workaround that was used for Google Wallet should work, according to what I've read.

I can't install the market version, that's the problem. It says my device isn't compatible or whatever...

The APK from this xda thread seems to work (at least until they bump the version and it starts forcing me to upgrade it).

Have you tried the workaround for non-supported apps in the market that I mentioned before?

i dont see how your device isnt compatible, galaxy nexus right? vzw gnex? it should work, i can open mine and watch movies as well, but then again i havent been stock since week 1

It might be because he's running a custom lcd density.
