This 3800mah worth a buy?

You get what u pay for....bad cells bad quality bad memory !etc. I'm not a fan of big batteries but I learned my lesson .when buying one I rather spend the money on a seidio (cause mugen is overpriced )

I'm pretty sure seidio gets the batteries from the same place everyone else does.
In fact during my windows mobile days there was even a person who opened up a seidio battery and found the exact same cells inside as another 2nd market battery.

I have owned all the different aftermarket batteries from seidio , mugen, no name ebay, randonm chine, etc... they all performed fine without any issues. I would imagine the failure rates can be higher from aftermarkets, seidio included, than oem but I have had good luck.

i picked up this battery. it was posted on droid-life a couple weeks ago. it came in the mail monday. i certainly wouldn't pay more than 8 bucks for it. it's lasts longer than the stock battery, for sure .. but it is probably not nearly as good as the seidio 3800mah. the battery door is not too great. but, all in all, for 8 dollars I am happy. it get's me through the whole day easily. but, don't expect miracles for 8 bucks.

Got mine today too. The door kinda sucks, but seems solid once you get it clipped on correctly. It came with 70% battery already, and I'm trying to run it down before charging it. It's harder than you'd think...I'm running a battery tester/drainer app and it's holding on like a champ! I'll post some more stats tomorrow once I get through a full cycle. Looks like I got one of the good ones.

Yeah, I think we all knew that for $8 we were taking a big gamble. After using mine some more, I'd agree with a previous post that it's about 3000 mAh or so (by comparing to the 2100). So less than the rated 3800, obviously, but worth the $8 in my case. It's still uber-ugly, though, and I only plan to use it when I need the extra juice.

OK, so updating with pics and results. This is DEFINITELY a large capacity battery, when compared to my stock 1750mAh unit. I used the ohone HEAVILY yesterday, and it still lasted all day and night, and got me to work on the subway this morning. I still have 9% left after all this. I'm really happy with the capacity for $8, and this is without any proper cycles and conditioning. Highly recommended.

I ordered 2 of them. I didn't expect anything spectacular but you get what you pay for. Its certainly better than my stock battery. Normally, if I know that I will be busy I will take a regular stock battery with me as a spare. Once, I actually used both batteries up in one day. With these extended batteries, if I know that I will be busy, I will put one of the extended batteries in and bring the extended spare. I should not run out. But a pretty good deal for $8. But I also would not pay more than this for this battery. And I only use this extended battery when I need a little extra juice since it makes the phone much bigger and doesn't look nice at all.

Hi Could you please link me battery you bought cause I have heavy use of my GNex and only get 10 hours max. So the 3800 battery would definitely help me

I've bought one of the 3800 batteries and we'll mixed reviews. It's lasted 1 day and 12 hours. Still got 10% left but that won't last more than 30 minutes.
I've done a mixture of heavy use on the web, games and texting. Also just let it go on standby overnight.
The standard battery only lasted me 1 day 3 hours max if I barely used my phone. Overall I'm happy with it but the rear case is awful and needs a rear design.
