Root New photon 4g owner

I have never used qbking77's stuff but I guess his stuff is ok. All I know is that I root/unlock/relock as many as 10-20 time a day using my root/unlock/relock pack and never had an issue. Alright, try the following:

  1. Leave the phone unplugged
  2. Hold vol down and power til you see fastboot
  3. hit vol down til you see recovery
  4. hit vol up
  5. You should have a screen with a triangle and android
  6. hit both vol up and down at the same time
  7. You should get a recovery menu (it may take a second or two)
  8. select wipe/reset to wipe the phone
  9. reboot phone holding vol down and power til you see fastboot
  10. hit vol down til you see rsd then hit vol up
  11. You should see "rsd mode enabled"
  12. flash the sbf (it may take a couple tries to get it to take)
RSD lite may give a fail on the "rebooting phone" phase but this happens all the time ignore it.
If you get a modem failed to start error, pull the battery and reboot
(this may take a couple tries as well)

Will do. Loki, thank you for all of your help as I'm still really new to the phone flashing/rooting area. It's much appreciated.

Update: I logged in to work from home to have the dl's done by the time I'm there in the morning. One of the dl's is w/bootstrap and one without. Does it matter which I use? Thanks again.

Well it looks like I'm up that infamous creek w/out a paddle. I left it plugged into my computer last night to charge for this morning. The problem is that once I got to the shop, it won't turn on. The only way that I can get to anything is if it's plugged into the wall. I left it plugged in for a couple of hours this morning but it still wouldn't turn on. I'm going to leave it here at the shop for the evening and come back later to see if that helps. I'll post back when something happens...or doesn't.:dong:

Sorry about not getting back to you on this. I had to go out of town for a couple days.

I've run into the dead battery/soft brick before and it needs to be plugged in to a wall charger not a computer to charge. If after charging you can at least get RSD mode there's hope on getting the phone running again. I will pm you later today with a possible solution to this.

Unless you are transferring files, try not to use your computer as a charger. The Photon will actually enter a "data transfer mode" without even having a battery installed if plugged into a computer.

No apology necessary. Just appreciate the help.

I just ordered a wall charger that will get here tomorrow. As soon as it gets here, I'll get the battery charged and then give RSDLite a shot with the sbf file that I downloaded from you. Even though this phone came with 198_6, it shouldn't matter to flash _7 correct?

Thanks again.

Loki, thank you for those files. I actually talked to a friend of mine that also owns and Photon and an extra battery. He came over and let me use the extra battery. Your .sbf file worked fantastic. Already rooted and am syncing everything after flashing your Rom. The only thing I'd like to know is if there's a way to have each percent show on the battery icon for your Imperium Rom? Thanks.
