Help Choppy Video and Poor Battery Life

I purchased the Pad 300 to watch videos. On either the built in player or using MX Video, the picture can be choppy with many types of formats. Any tips to alleviate this issue?

Also, how does one get more than about 5 hours of battery life between charges? There is no way I can get 10 hours use.

I've already exchanged this unit for a new one and both have the same issues. I can perhpas live with the flimsy construction, but not so much the video issues.

Are you running MX Player with the hardware or the software decoder? Switching to software decoder will make all of the difference in the world. You can change it software decoding by selecting S/W Decoder under Decoder in the settings. The stock player is garbage, so I never use it. I generally use MX Player or MoboPlayer, and I've never had any problems whatsoever with either when using software decoding. Video is always 100% smooth. You can also try putting the tablet in performance mode to see if that helps, but video has always worked great for me in balanced mode and power saving mode.

As far as the battery goes, it all depends on what you're doing. On average, I get 8-9 hours out of mine. I typically run it in balanced mode with the brightness down.

Thanks. I did switch and noticed a little bit of smoothing but more artifacts. You would think with the advanced processor the video could be rendered more smoothly in HW mode. It also seems that software mode uses a bit more battery. The app also crashes a lot.

Haven't yet fugured how to get 8 hours from the battery.
