S3 review from PhoneArena:

Samsung Galaxy S III Review

Only negatives seem to be the material finish of the phone and the rather average camera for a premium phone.

They gave the S3 a score of 9.3, but they also gave the Galaxy Nexus a score of 9.5. So a phone from almost a year ago gets a better score than the current S3?

The phone is released approximately in 2 weeks and no other tech website/blog has a review of the S3. Me thinks they just wanted to get the review out ASAP so they could claim to be frst ones who have reviewed the S3. GSM Arena's preview of the S3 was more in-depth than whole review of the S3 by Phone Arena.

Maybe the writer uses a Galaxy Nexus and is trying to justify their purchase.

Maybe this is a sign they just don't know what their talking about and are best ignored.

Or both.

It's a good score but to score the Galaxy Nexus higher makes no sense. Did you see what he gave the HTC One X? I think this guy is a joke.

Only bummer is the Camera, but coming from Moto phones a mid range Samsung camera is still an upgrade.

Also about the score, they are not comparable. They are given to phones at one time. The Gnex was so good compared to what was out at that time that it got a higher score. The SG3 is not as evolutionary as the Gnex this a lower score compared to whats out now.

I think the OP is missing a crucial factor in the scoring of the Nexus Vs the S3 - the context - the Nexus wasn't reviewed in todays smartphone climate was it? If the Galaxy Nexus were rated now naturally it would score lower than handsets being released now. If you're going to say "this new handset is better than that old one and must be rated higher" you'll hit a score of 10 soon enough, and then what do you do?

Agree the review is a bit naff, I think they pushed it out to grab hits, not that surprising from Phonearena.

Rubbish, the Galaxy S II is still a better phone imo and only scored 9/10 when they reviewed it, The Galaxy Nexus has a nice screen, but otherwise I can't think of anything else positive to say about it.

If Nexus was reviewed today in comparison to current market, it would be like an 8 probably.

But the Gnex had 4.0 which would make it score a little higher. It be like taking the best car of the 1980s vs a mid range car today. The mid range car today is the better car.

So what? The Galaxy S II was on the latest version of Android at the time, so is the Galaxy S3

This 'review' had less information than previews posted by gsmarena and phonearea themselves. I'll wait for a review by engadget, theverge or the best one of them all, anandtech.

However its good to see it continue the strong scores.

yeah I thought that was a sub-par video review on phonearena's part.
