Does anyone even want the Best Buy exclusive Plum color?

I've seen a few posts here and there about how no one likes the color. I think it's pretty hideous myself. It doesn't look like a real color, it's not quite purple and not quite pink with a slight grayness to it. Either way, those colors are going to alienate a lot of people. I have no idea why they didn't just go with something simple like white, silver, blue, etc. But anyway, is anyone here at all more drawn to the plum color than the black? Does anyone own it?

I did/do want it, but I kind of wanted a Sprint branded model (just because) and I also didn't want to wait. I figured it was different, would be easier spot and harder to lose, but also I don't think the color is that bad. I settled for a super rare purple oem backplate to add to mine.

Why that color? Who knows.

I'd prefer a legitimate purple color than the plum. It just looks kinda bland. And they got rid of the color accent around the cameras, which makes it look even more bland. On the plus side, it would be more unique since almost everyone else will have the regular black color.

Saw a video on youtube, someone got the plum evo and it also has sprint logo on it.

The color accent was removed on the plum, black still has the red trim and I agree the lack of trim color looks bland. The purple I have coming has silver trim.

I know there are (at least) 9 OEM rear cover plates for this phone, only 3 are black. They won't change the bezel but they will make it more unique.

The Best Buy Plum has plum paint around the screen in the pictures (no black). I beleive all (or most) of the others were black around the screen. They did it this way on the Evo 4G as well.

I'll say that I considered it, but its not a great looking color compared to black. Now if they had done like a red wine color ala black jack 2 then I would've been all over that

The whole phone is colored. I didn't notice until I put on my fat battery back that was really black.

For what it is worth, I kind of like the color. It is not obviously colored. If you put on a nice tpu case it all but goes away.

I didn't really like that color. I think a more defined purple would have looked nice though.

I personally don't really like girly colors.
I think this phone looks perfectly sexy without a cover too.
The black and red look nice together.

On another note:
I'm just starting to wonder if they are all going to be Sprint branded...

Gentleman posted that he received Virgin branded phone at BB. States that the software versions are identical to our Sprint versions. No pix posted yet..

Me being a guy i really don't like the color, the only way i would like it is if there was a color to go with plum that complemented it. But other than that i'm gonna stick to the original color being as though it's my favorite colors anyway.

I have the plum Sprint-branded Evo, and I quite like it. It's dark enough not to be glaringly "not-black", but with just enough color for some interest.

It will cost you around $100 to do, provided you don't break your screen changing it over. Add another $60 if you do. There is also a dark purple with dark purple trim (around $80), as well as a black rear cover with gold trim. Prices are if you are frugal and search a bit. Otherwise full housings can run well over $130.

Rear covers alone are much cheaper (usually well under $20) and obviously much easier to change. I have purple coming as soon as USPS gets off their butt and delivers it.

It is pretty, also pretty highly sought after.
I can just see it looking bad after it collects some scratches, oil and dirt.

Supply for white is decent, but while the parts come up for sale somewhat often, they are snatched up fast. Purple has less supply, but also less demand.

No. They can keep their white, plum, puce, cyan, magenta, etc. Black or nothing for me(less case glare in sunlight a lesson learned from ereaders, particularly Sony who has this egregious predeliction for slapping that craptastic chromish plastic on the edgings of their products like it was cool and useful somehow... phailwhale...)

I think the only thing I might of liked different is the red around the cameras.

It would of looked nice with a dark grey or silver like color.

I like dark neutral type of colors. Matches with everything. Heh.
