Help Led lights?

I an not new to Android or this forum. I did just get (last week) a RAZR Maxx. I am rooted, stock, waiting for OTA upgrade. If not received, I will do it manually.

My question is one that had ticked me off since my OG Droid got Froyo. Can the led lights blink with screen on? I know PHONE is capable, Google removed ability in OS. On Droid, all CM based mods fixed this. I had other issues, which finally prompted me to get this phone.

Any help on this? Light flow changes led colors, which is good if my screen was off. Purple means text from kids, I turn on screen an reply. Blue led means text from Twitter. Ignore. Red, missed call....respond. Green is Gmail, ignore. Get it?

I watch videos on phone (full screen) and turn notification sounds off (tweets and Facebook would kill me ..). But, I want to see if kids need me via text....(yeah, they can call, but what teenager does?)

Suggestions???? Thank you!

I recall an app that will control the LED in the way you want...

Unfortunately I can't recall the name.

Perhaps Zane is referring to Light Flow.

As I stayed earlier, Light Flow is great, but only when screen is OFF. I want the led light to flash when screen us ON.

For example....I put phone in dock holder. Screen goes to clock/dock mode. Full screen, screen on. Digital clock bounces around screen. If I am sitting in room, and a notification of a text comes in, I hear it, tap screen, see notification in bar. Can attend to it or ignore it.

HOWEVER: If I am out of room, I will not hear notification tone. No led will light up (as screen is "on"). I have to think...."hmmmm....maybe I had a message...u need to check"....Then I need to physically turn screen on and look.

The way CM and CM based ROM's handled this: Phone in dock. Message comes in while I am out of room. LED light blinks as I have programmed. Green means gmail. Ignore it. Purple means text from kids. Respond to it. Red means missed call. Respond to it. Blue means text from Twitter. Ignore it....

Understand? Haven't found a way other than custom ROM.

Help?

I know some roms I was running on my nexus allowed me to make them come on with the screen on. I know in aokp I could. If there's a aokp rom for the maxx you should def try it

Thank you, I will. All AOKP ROM's need you to be on an ICS leak. I am just waiting for official OTA.

If I am sitting in room, and a notification of a text comes in, I hear it, tap screen, see notification in bar. Can attend to it or ignore it.

Not if you screen is in a dock mode and sounds are off....

I go to gym. Watch video on phone. Phone is full screen. I turn notification sounds off, so I don't gave to her every text message/tweet/Facebook update/mail notification, etc.....

Since screen is in and there is no notification bar in full screen, I don't hear or see notifications. BUT as I have stated, the phone has the ability to let the led light blink while screen is on. The OS (Froyo/Gingerbread/ and ICS) have crippled thus option.

CyanogenMod ROMs and ROMs based off his allow this in Gingerbread. It seems some ROMs allow this in ICS...

Finally installed leaked ICS. Downloaded KOA AOKP ROM. It has this feature.

I was using an app called blink till ics install, then the led would not stop blinking after clearing the alert...no biggy...

Blink works light Light Flow. Allows you to customize colors of notifications, but only blinks with screen OFF. If in dock or using full screen, screen is ON. Only way to see notification is from notification bar, but there is no notification bar in full screen. Understand?
