[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

Hmm, it seems I have to grant superuser access to every root app each time I use them even though I have the "remember selection" box checked. Anybody else have that?

What's worked for me and others is to download supersu and update the binaries with that app. Jake is planning to put supersu as the default superuser app in 3.1 anyways.

Well, was going to flash 3.0 tonight but with all the issues will stay on 2.5 and move to 3.1 when the issues get fixed.

Agreed. I don't have the battery life left to start flashing tonight anyway. I NEVER do anything under 80% charge... not even a nandroid.

Tomorrow will be a good day. Full charge, 3.1, and plenty of play time :)

Nite nite and sweet Android dreams!

Thanks man that worked like a champ. Updated binary with Superuser SU, then chose the option to clean up and delete. Perfect solution.

whoa....i just downloaded everything and was about to flash 3.0...until i saw steven mention Calendar doesn't work...i can't have that. Can anyone that flashed clean confirm if calendar sync works? aka....make a calendar event on your pc and see if it automatically syncs to your phone.

Also just a habit maybe.....but i never never NEVER flash dirty. Even if the Dev says its ok. I don't recommend it. I wipe/format/clean everything. before each flash of ANY rom.

are there risks to flashing dirty even if you've backed everything up and saved it remotely?

i prefer to flash dirty if possible so i don't have to set everything up again

I can confirm that it works after a clean flash

yes i believe there is, but that is just my opinion. Backing everything up doesn't change the fact that you flashed dirty. It just gives you a back up to restore to if/when something goes wrong.

Slightly off topic, but can TWRP just be flashed in recovery and leave it at that, or is there some special setup?

I figure if JB roms are still buggy, I may as well temporarily cure the flashing bug by flashing this lol

Yes, that is all. Just boot into recovery and then select the TWRP zip file and flash it. Then reboot and that is it. I just did it a few minutes ago and all went smooth :D

Ok, I didn't get a chance to fully respond earlier. There are a couple items I need to address so I'll do it all in this post.

I did a clean wipe (I think...since I'm a noob to TWRP). Flashed JB Bootloader, rebooted, flashed Jelly Belly 3.0, then Gapps 7/10 proper. I had a long load time but it worked. I noticed increased volume right away. It's really quick. This time, the home screen looked different than 2.4.

I'm not sure why it does this but for some reason I have 2 sdcard locations...one is at the root level and one is under /storage/sdcard and TiBu is backing up here for some reason. I can't see this storage folder when I plug the phone into the PC. Not a big deal really since I have been saving ROMs to the phone.

Anyway, here is what I'm seeing wrong...

-I had to add Calendar and Browser from the app try. Not sure what's up there, but the Calendar did sync.

-Signal indicators, wifi and 4G both are showing gray and won't flip to blue. (I was never sure what that meant anyway because I can browse the internet and make calls).

-Two camera apps and two galleries. This is very annoying. I know there is a way to delete stock apps. I just can't remember how to do it. I'll find it again, I'm sure.

-Swype does not autospace in text boxes on the stock browser. It works fine everywhere else. It was not working on 2.4 either. It will work in Chrome though. Could be a problem with Swype and JB.

I flashed with TWRP for the first time. Could this be the source of some of these problems?

Patriot, that is the tapatalk app.

Edit: I found a couple more issues.

-The camera app takes forever to snap a picture.
-Google search (Google Now?) will not search. It just listens. It shows the little gray pixels as if it has recognized I said something but never interprets what I said.

Edit #2:

Wifi hotspot stops running when I turn it on.

Yeah I noticed that too but it's been identified as a known issue per the OP:

Known Issues
google now is messed up for some on 3.0, will be fixed in 3.1 and a patch tonight

So I'm hopeful it'll be fixed soon. I didn't have the same problem with the cam taking forever but it does seem a little "smarter" about getting a good focus before snapping the pic. Before it seemed like it was almost too quick resulting in some blurry shots.

I know what you mean but I liked the ability to take them as fast as I can press the button. I was better at getting pictures like that then trying to time it to how long it randomly takes to focus. The more I think about it, the more I hate how the camera operates now.

You might like the "Camera ICS" app from the market better. Runs like the old cam, only downside is there is an add. Paid version removes it I'd assume. Adfree doesn't seem to get rid of it for me anyway.
