Cheapest way to buy this phone?

I became eligible for my upgrade in June, and I am looking into getting this phone. I see that if I upgrade online, the phone is $200 before a $50 online discount and a $30 upgrade discount, bringing the total to $120. But I've also read that Verizon charges a $30 fee to upgrade now, bringing the price back up to $150? Amazon Wireless has it for $100, but it's on backorder (does Verizon price match with them?). And I also took a glance at the Let's Talk website, and I don't know how they sell phones so cheaply, but it seems kind of sketchy.

Is there any way I could get this phone cheaper? I think it would be a great upgrade from my Droid Charge. Thanks in advance!

I think the cheapest way is from a Verizon Store where you can talk them into price matching the website so that you get the $50 instant credit as well as the $50 mail in rebate and the $30 credit you get for the upgrade. Before those discounts you are looking at $230 but with them it works out to $100. Not everyone has been able to get their local Verizon store to give them both the instant discount and mail in rebate but some have. I was not able to so I paid $209 out the door (they put it on my bill) and will get a $50 gift card in the mail. I upgraded from a DINC 1 so I had a $30 credit as well which negates the $30 charge for the upgrade they now charge.

Also as someone stated you will lose your unlimited data plan if you have it unless you pay full price for a phone. For me it works out to switch because I was paying for tethering and with the shared plans tethering is included. Also I went with the 2gb plan because I rarely went over 1gb and was told if I see I'm going to go over I can just upgrade before I do and then down grade the next month if I don't. For me I will be saving about $40 a month.

If you read the fine print for Amazon and Lets Talk you will find they have early termination fee's as well on top of what Verizon Wireless will charge so keep that in mind.

I had an old $100 off any droid email coupon I got March of 2011. I brought it into the store to see if they would honor it. It didn't have any expiration date so I thought I'd give it a try.

No luck.

My wife still has a $50.00 (the old new every two) upgrade credit so she can get her phone for $199 minus the rebate that every gets of $50.00, minus her upgrade credit of $50......add in the $30 upgrade fee and her final cost is $129.

Just for kicks, I called Verizon Wireless via their 800 number....NOT the store.
The woman was very nice....and while she would not honor my $100 coupon....she would match my wife's $50.00 upgrade credit.

While you can get this phone cheaper going through "third party resellers" like Best Buy or LetsCall....you then no longer have access to Verizon's customer service. You have to go through the reseller for billing or service questions/issues. Personally, I'll pay a little more and go through Verizon directly.

Perhaps those who went through an "authorized third party resellers" can let us know how they have made out with problems.

So we both can get an upgrade credit of $50.00......Now to decide if we go for the Galaxy S3 or the Incredible 4G.... arghhhh.

Thanks for the replies guys. I do have another question though: how did you get the extra $50 upgrade credit? Is that for going from a 3G to a 4G phone? I had a malfunctioning Fascinate and got a free upgrade to a Droid Charge, so I probably missed out on that. I will probably just go through Verizon, it would be annoying to have to go through a third party.

Also, I know I will be losing unlimited data. It doesn't really bother me though, I think I've only gone over 2GB once and that was this month. I tethered to my computer because I didn't have internet for ten days. (Still, I wish I would have gotten the GS3 to either have or sell. I didn't even think of that.)

The store won't give it to you. I would try calling the Verizon 800 number and let them know you are a long time Verizon customer (if you are) and have heard of others getting a $50.00 upgrade credit. Corporate can give it to you (maybe) but the store won't.

You have to buy the phone through the 800 number though....but then you can deal with the store for returns/service/etc.

All they can say is "NO" right?
