Galaxy S3 or HTC One X which phone to get?

The One X has the much better camera from what I have read. Just because they are both 8 mega pixels it doesn't mean they are of equal quality. The display on the One X is also better and more realistic. The S 3 screen over saturates images. I like Samsung a lot but I think the One X is the better phone. I really want the One X but the selection of carriers in Canada is not good for this phone.

First of all ignore any posts that quote benchmark tests for both devices, they've both had decent firmware upgrades that have improved the phones.

I have a One X, my missus has the S3.. I prefer mine and she prefers hers.

The One X has a better camera (except in bad light), better screen, looks and feels better in the hand, the sound quality is better than anything I've ever heard providing you get a decent pair of headphones. Better for games and generally runs things a little quicker. HTC released a phone riddled with problems but the firmware upgrades have sorted every last one of them. On the batter issues that people who don't have the phone mention, it's a quad core phone.. if you play shadowgun or GTA3 or any tegra 3 enhanced games the battery is gonna drain quickly about 3/4 hrs but if you use it for facebook and twitter, some calls and messages, browsing and angry birds then you'll easily get a full day with plenty to spare.

The S3 has a faster browser, better looking stock wallpapers and animations, it has a removable battery and micro sd card which is important to some people. It does have a slightly better battery life but this could be down to my wife using it less than I use mine. It seems to have a better hspda signal indoors were mine seems to flicker between hspda and 3g although as I have wifi it's not massively important. Slightly better video quality although both are great. I have seen on here that you can get a 2gb version which I can imagine will make the performance even better.

All in all both are amazing devices, the S3 is probably the one most will pick as it is the higher valued brand but I think HTC have made a special phone with the One X and at the moment I wouldn't swap it for anything. The phones are very similar, it would probably take some time in a lab to pick out the differences between them.

From my experience with both the stock htc one x is laggy from a heavy sense 4.0. The S3 cam sucks compared to the one x, and build quality too.

Galaxy S3 wins fairly easily imo, performance is better in general and allot faster for gaming, camera is better except in low light conditions, screen is better (OLED vs LCD), battery life is better, theres allot more storage options, video recording is better (higher framerate and bitrate) removeable battery. Also Samsungs extras like S-Voice, Smart Stay, Samsung apps etc

You could argue the HTC One X has a better screen and design, but that's debatable, the camera is better in low light conditions though.

Throwing bias out as much as I can... (even though a lot of the posts in this thread are all total bias)

I'm currently using the Galaxy S3 (sprint). I'm on edge on whether to keep this one, or get the One X variant on sprint.


Build quality, hands down, goes to HTC on this one.
The battery, so far, is on the S3.
The screen, for overall through-the-day use, goes to the One X, easily.
Speed wise, I can't tell a difference between the floor model and my S3.
Development seems to have taken off a lot faster for the One X, as well. Not sure how long before we start seeing non-stock based roms for the S3.
(bias) As for the overlays, I'm more preferential to the One X again. The TouchJizz--Touch Wizz interface -cough-sorry-cough- just looks toony and cluttered to me compared to Sense which looks like it's matured. Really don't like it. The faster cyanogenmod is released for the S3, the better.
Camera is definitely to the One X. Image sense tech is awesome, and it shows in the pictures. Video is also clearer.


I'm still in debate. Got till the end of next week to figure it out.
