Geniatech Enjoy TV

You don't need to flash the Pivos firmware XBMC works on the other firmwares too, tested gio965s modded Geniatech version and Sumvision firmware.

You can force flash the Pivos firmware just like any other onto 512MB 8726M1 players but you cannot use it with 256MB 8726M1, 8726M3 or 8726MX based players.

If planning on buying an Amlogic box do get a Pivos XIOS DS where available as they helped XBMC on Android happen so it's worth supporting them for that.

Hopefully the bugs in Android that are being noted in the Pivos forums will get squashed and the fixes will go upstream to whoever makes Android for Amlogic players (I'm guessing it's actually Amlogic).

P.S. Could anyone run Nenamarkv1 on their box pretty much everyone reading this has an 8726M1, I think mine is on it's way out the GPU is really slow but I cant find any direct comparison scores so I would really appreciate if someone could run Nenamark (takes just a few seconds) and tell me the FPS they get.

Thanks.

1- Geniatech devices really can play 1080p movies ?
2- what formats These devices will play exactly ?
3- All the following formats are Play normally with these devices ?( MTS, M2TS, TS, TP, MKV, AVI, Xvid, Divx, WMV, MPG, MOV, VOB, MP4, FLV, IFO, BD ISO/Folder, DAT, DVD ISO/Folder, RM/RMVB ) There is no any problem when playing?when playing large files are Video and audio sync ?normally can be played Films with more than 15 or 20 GB capacity ?
4- Is not it better to buy a device with a dual core chip ? The device chipset is enough strong ? Do these devices work like a xtreamer prodigy or WD TV Live Hub? (In terms of ability to play full HD videos)
5- Is Possible to change the font or install new fonts in them? I want to watch my movies with Subtitles with my favorite font.
6- These device what kind of 3D video can be play ?As far as I know the 3D film only can be broadcast from the hdmi 1.4 port , and Hdmi 1.3 port cannot be broadcast real 3D films .
7- In this devices Possible to connect them with the external DVD or BD drive ?
8- These devices have the ability to display the Farsi ( persian ) subtitles?

XBMC is supported on Amlogic chipsets which is what Geniatech use and takes care of playback for all media by offloading the video to VPU (video processing unit), its much better than the very basic media player supplied. Amlogic chipsets can handle Blu-ray's extracted with MakeMKV.

3D Blu-ray video is only supported on the newer Amlogic 8726-M3 or 8726-MX variants, many boxes out there are still using older 8726M1 which does not support H.264 MVC (3D Blu-ray). However I don't think XBMC supports this format yet anyway.

8726-M1 VPU supports: MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MJPEG, H.264, Realvideo, VC-1.
8726-M3 & MX VPU supports : MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MJPEG, H.264, H.264 MVC, Realvideo, AWS, VC-1

It's not possible to use a DVD or BD drive with these boxes.

Does anyone know if the Pivis f/w should definitely work on this box?
Spec is Cortex A9, Amlogic 8726-M1, 512MB RAM, Mali400 GPU. Model: MBX MBX DVBT reference board (c03ref).

XBMC already runs but there is sync drift on all video players, which I would hope different f/w would correct. But don't want to risk bricking it.

Thanks

Edit: Same question re Stane1983's custom f/w. Would that work on this box?

Yeah it should flash to that but theres always a small risk. It's still very early days in the XBMC port, the Pivos firmware may not do anything to fix that.

Be aware that if you dont have a copy of the original firmware on the box then thats gone check if there are firmware updates available.

Both have the same version numbers Uboot etc.

The only difference that I could see was with the supplied apps. The xios has a separate apps update

Hello folks.
New to this forum (and site).
How can I post a thread (ask question) on this forum?
Have read the FAQ's, cannot find the button.
I have a problem regarding a recent ICS upgrade to a Sumvision Nano Slim+ and problems getting USB HDDs detected.
Odd to find I apparently have a re-branded Enjoy TV Box Nano3 ATV510B, or the pictures look similar.
Your help on either subject most appreciated.
