Root [S-OFF] Juopunutbear S-OFF -Beta Release

S-off succesful, I believe so since that's what i saw via the command prompt. Anyways well now I'm trying to "install" these compressed winrar files one by one via the bootloader. The thing is I installed the juopunutbear hboot thing via the command prompt when I was doing the s-off procedure. I'm really lost on what to do, see I know I'm supposed to work on each file one by one but this new bootloader thing after going in goes into this loop thing, I don't do anything it just says something regarding an update and then the only choice is to accept or deny and then it asks to power down. Any help? I'm simply just poking around here but I've been fine until now, Thanks for the help everyone!

I am currently rooted and have midnight roms latest update. I am thinking about doing the s-off so I can get the fix everything update that will include fixes with the signal fluctation and signal strength. Before I proceed, I do have a few questions that Im hoping you guys could answer for me. Will doing s-off completely wipe out the data (rom backups, titaminum backups, mp3s, etc) from my card? If so, can I just move them to my pc, then move them back after this is done?? Also, isnt 4ext (my current recovery) on my sd card and if so it would wipe that too, dont I need that for s-off? Also, I read in some previous posts that they went into a chatroom for help, how do I get into this chatroom if I need additional help? Is there a link in these threads for the chatroom? I would feel a little safer in doing this if I had a chatroom I could go into if I run into problems. When I successfully do s-off, will this take me back to my midnight rom I currently have on there now, or will it be completely stock?? Also, is there a step by step guide to do this s-off? I am a noob when it comes to this in depth configuration. I appreciate any and all feedback that you guys can give me.

You will need to have your phone unlocked, rooted, and on a stock ROM. If you are not on a custom ROM and you did not make a backup of your stock ROM, please use this unroot guide to unroot back to software version 2.17 (then you have to re-unlock your bootloader and root it again).

I found this on the how to get s-off website. I will not be able to do this when Im currently on midnights rom then?? Do I need the stock backup then?? And if I do, where do I put it since, if Im right, this erases the sd card data then?? Also, How can I move my sd card data to my pc instead of having to move each individually file? Thanks for the help.

Sorry about all the questions, just trying to get everything answered before I go and do this.

That is the website I was at, there is a you tube video on how do do this. What I am wondering is, is this just for the sprint evo 3d or can I do this with my htc evo v from virgin mobile?? Thanks again.

You can do it on both the VM Evo V and Evo 3D, the only difference is they have different downloads for each one.

Worked on this for almost 8 hours and couldn't get it to work. My phone was locked up for about 5 hours and the good folks at Unlimited IO got me working but told me I would have to be on the stock ROM (I am on Harmonia ROM) If I want to make this process work.

I am convinced that most of my troubles were user error but I am worn out and won't try this again for a while.

you should try juopunutbears irc channel to get support from those guys..there is always someone from his team there waiting for people that need support..i have gone their twice when i was doing the whole s-off deal..and then again when i wanted the juopunutbear modified hboot..

I went to the irc website, found the juopunutbears-beta channel (this by the way is the only channel that the search found) but says I have to be invited to join. How can I get into this chatroom so I can ask the guys some questions. I dont know who to ask to get a invite?? Please help.

There is no option for this, only for the two I mentioned in the previous post a couple back. Where do I find this one download?? Those I mentioned above are the only two for the windows version

Download Control Bear:

Download for Windows for Sprint Evo 3D
Download for Linux for Sprint Evo 3D
Download for Windows for GSM Evo 3D
Download for Linux for GSM Evo 3D

These are the only options available for control bear, I dont see anywhere where it say htc evo cdma???

Is there any way to chat with some one on here, Ive never done that before. I know people are not always on here to post but I would kinda like to do this today and waiting all day for 1 or 2 post is not productive.

Go to "unlimited.io" and select the "Support" link near the top of the page. This will take you to a new screen with a large light blue window near the bottom. Just above the light blue window is a paragraph of instructions. once you sign in there will be a white box at the bottom of the light blue window. Type your situation with as much detail as possible. They will reply in a few minutes.

Finally tried the S-OFF process tonight; turned out to be easy -- in fact, way too easy.

It seems like all I had to do was connect my phone to my pc, run the Controlbear app, touch my wire (an old micro USB cord with the ends of the black wire shaved off) to the contact points and after about two tries it worked and rebooted the phone in my hboot 1.57, and I was ready to go.

Yup that's the process. I was shocked at how easy it was too
