Root 1.02 DroidHD ROM

As long as you are on 211,214 or 215 and do all the necessary wipes it shouldn't matter what rom you come from. I have always flashes roms over top another and have not had an issue, just be sure to format /system
Yea I dont understand what the hell the problem is. I am litereally following all isntructions exactly how they are laid out and with no luck.

There is no reason that the fact that I have a red razr maxx is messing with anything right? Everything seems to work for the most part, rooting ect, and the ROM flashes succesfully, it just doesnt fully flash..Circles weather part is broken, no google now, some other weird problems..

Anyone have a link to stock rooted ICS so I can start over and try fresh? I am on 211 right now, using safestrap 2.0, and doing all the steps right.. I dont understand...

Depends though, because if both are system apps, I don't think the actual apk of the launcher will uninstall because it is built into the system
I checked the system files and its definitely not there.

My only other idea is that somehow through all of this my phone became unrooted and its not properly writing the system files, and just installing the APK's from the zip? But I still dont have the OTAUpdate apk though..so idk..plus i have safestrap, which is an app usable only with root, and ive used titanium..so that debunks that. But i am severely stumped.

Hmm I don't know. I would just boot into safestrap, clear data then cache then dalvik cache then flash a different ROM then turn off phone then turn on and make sure everything is force closing and the boot into safestrap again and repeat the wiping but then flash Droid HD and turn off then reboot and then hopefully yer good.... long yes, but I would do it :)

I have essentially done that. I never get FC's because the flash never "fully" flashes on the phone. For instance

I flashed Droid HD ROM. When the phone boots up, i go through setup and it asks me what home screen i want. which is already wrong. Then The ONLY 2 things that are installed from the ROM is the permanant google search bar, and the Circles widget apk. No OTAUpdate Center, no extra settings, nothing. This is the same thing when i tried ArticHD as well.

There has to be something small that I am missing, or that is going wrong during installation.

I have tried installing from my SD card, and I think i tried right off the phone itself. The only thing I havent tried was going completely stock, and unrooting, and rooting again and trying that. At this point I have flashed/hard reset my phone over 30 times and I honestly dont even want to re-set up my apps ect again. But I just want this to work. Its so frustrating because I know I am not doing anything wrong at all.

I hope my time has helped fix your problems?
