[FONT=&quot]This guide is meant to bridge ALL of the guides on the webs to: Achieve S-OFF, Root, Install Recovery, Install ROMs, and tweak performance settings. We start with a boring Evo V 4G (And in some cases, and Evo 3D), and turn it into a muscle-phone, with supposed 3000+ Quadrant and better reception! I just wanted to make a thread to remove all confusion by putting it all in one place, so if I

This guide looks great! Im upto the PRL update but not able to see my phone in the ports menu? I've got the diag drivers but my diag doesn't show up in device manager or modems....?

Try using Harmonia, because you need to be able to type in the dialer code, ##3424#, and some ROMs aren't capable of entering diagnostic mode. Just backup, flash the ROM, then recover, if you want to go back.

It worked! Ty so much! Now next is the build.prop hacks but that's for tomorrow. This needs to be made a sticky guide!

Btw, do I need the mobsterz kernal for these or can I keep the anthrax kernal?

Do not do step #6.
All of these roms already have the tweaks put in and flashing anything here will create issues with the roms. * Most even include a kernel.

Also, on step 6 #4 the links aren't linked. Good guide otherwise.

*The files these zips include overwrite the files in the rom, some of which have more than one tweak applied. Some tweaks are incompatible and some roms have better tweaks applied.

Say something about the zip files all 3 with the same name and not to down them until they are need.

You may use ANY kernel, just wanted to have people use what I have tested and know to be working.

Can you reboot from bootloader? Select it using the volume keys to go up or down, and power to select.

no it just keeps going back into bootloader
and so using adb and command prompt i flashed recovery successful but am unable to boot any roms

Pull battery, boot with vol. Down and power, and plug in USB and use storage mode to download harmonia Rom to ad card. Then wipe dalvik cache, cache, data, then flash the zip and then reboot!

Holy shit, this guide did it! I actually was having error's even with leslie ann's super easy guide, I just went through and read ALL the steps here and found out some stuff I had missed, especially some drivers and now I did everything and holy shit my reception is better, **** yes. Thank you !! Now I still want to get a 4g lte phone but I just bought my evo so this makes me feel better. I feel like I can get through a whole year now with it. If I follow this guide after this will it make matters worse? http://androidforums.com/evo-v-4g-all-things-root/617199-mod-4g-hack.html Also, whenever my phone reboots I get that screen that showed up when doing the prl update, what I can do to take that off? I know I can click home but I just don't want it to appear at all.

can i be on midnight rom when i do s-off???? i already have unlocked bootloader and ext4... think its time to take the next step,... can someone pm me to go through the steps with me... (this guide makes it look real easy but i still want someone walking me through the steps.....)

Just wanted to say thanks, like I did in the other threads. I was scared as hell, and thought I bricked my phone at least 5 times. But now I have something that actually works and has a radio that can be easily adjusted!!!

Also, I have never rooted/flashed or did anything to the phone, so this is a very good manual!!! The only thing I had to read up on a little more, was original newbie guide for rooting your 4g thread. I got a little confused by the part about the developer tools and took extra time to figure that out.
