Thanks for the reply, but I'm no further ahead.

I just tried it. I selected one of the individual pointer .zip files in the .zip file. Without changing the long filename, I copied it from /sdcard/Download to the top level of /sdcard. (is that what you mean when you say "root"?)

I'm not sure what you mean by "the update program". On my AMP1000, in Settings, under Media Box M1 there is an item called "Check for updates" Is that what you mean? Well, it just says my system is up to date, even after I renamed the pointer .zip file to "update.zip". I even tried copying the file to "/" (root). Nothing worked.

Anybody have another suggestion to change my pointer?

you should have have program..
in your programs list...that is an update program
when you open it, it will list all available files that can be flashed..

Thanks for the hint, @dgcruzing. The program in my App Drawer is actually called "Upgrade", and it is indeed from Geniatech.

Well, it lists the files in /sdcard/ named "update.zip".

I renamed one of the pointer files to "update.zip", and it did indeed reboot with the new cursor.

note:
you dont have to rename them..
and its actually better that you dont..
this way you know what files you have..
also I have to confirm but I am sure you can make a sub-directory and steer the program
to look in it..like something like ..`to flash' or 'roms' this way your root directory is clean..

Hi,

I would like to ask your help!

Recently I bought an ATV4000 (M3) 1Gb RAM with 4.0.4 ICS.

I experienced that when I'm playing movies (480p or 720p divx or 720p mkv) the video is a little bit stuttering, no matter what kind of player I am using (builin player, mx player, mobo player, rock player).

I had no problem with 1080p videos.

I tried to replace my default ICS to the latest one, dated 20120827 downloaded from geniatech.com

but the issue was the same.

Additional information:

Uboot version: V2.0.0-35-g36c4ecb (20120815.094510)
Recovery version: V2.0.0-59-ga992ca2-dirty (20120721.153907)
Kernel version: V2.6.34V2.0.0-67-g215089c-dirty

Just a shot, but!!!

Pull out power plug, push in reset button, push in power plug, wait until red and blue lights show (a second or two), release reset button and if there is an update.img file on the SD card then it will try to load it.

If there is no update.img file then it will boot into Recovery screen.

Install setCPU from marketplace then set the CPU profile to performance.

Also try XBMC as the media player.

I tried the xbmc and still stuttering!

P.S i tried setCPU, but the profile was default in performance mode (1000Mhz).
well nothing happend, some problem as mentioned movies are stuttering

An Internet search will pull up a range of Airplay apps for Android and they all should work.

I am not really sure which box I have, since I bought a Sumvision Nano+ 1Gb, whihc is a rebranded geniatech M3 style box. I think, from looking at the geniatech site that I have an ATV500 series, probably a 510. Hopefully this is an OK place to ask questions about it?

I have XBMC up and running beautifully and love the box. My only issue is controlling it with my Logitech Harmony 600 universal IR remote. I can't figure it out at all.

Does anyone know where I can find the correct IR remote codes to get it working, or another way?

Worth a try?

Get a wireless mouse and plug in the dongle and see if that helps.

If it does, a wireless keyboard and mouse will probably work.

The best of course is a wireless air wand.

If the Nano + has limited USB ports, get a cheap USB hub and use that.

I also have a Kogan Android dongle and use the above as well as a air wand from a defunct ATV 1000 clone.

BTW, if you go into Settings -> About -> the Model Number should indicate if it is an M1 or M3 unit

Hi

My Box (V1000) seems to be strange when changing different monitors whether I connected to HDMI, composite & other. At the start when I got the box I connected to my usual TV/Computer Monitor (HD) works ok, set it up, installing software everything worked ok then I decided to move somewhere else like the lounge I got there a big HD TV so I connected to the HDMI socket works ok although didn't like resolution so I went to the setting to fix it to 1080P, so I thought I leave the box there permanently everythink work ok but I couldn't understand why I reset or turn off the box it goes to low resolution everytime I tried to set to PAL mode on the box (Holding reset & Turn on) but doesn't help I can't get to set it to 1080P permanently.
Now the main problem is when I connected the box back to my TV/Computer Monitor (HD), I couldn't get any video at all my Monitor message "no signal" in any sockets (HDMI, Composite, etc), not sure what happened it was working at the start but now there is no video, holding reset & power on & wait still not getting no video, so I moved the box back to big HD TV & I got video, the box now works only my HD TV.
Tried to restore back to old system (2.3.4) using the only way to see video (HD TV), but still video doesn't work on my other monitor (TV/Computer Monitor).

Yep, im the same, i ordered another sumvision nano box for a friend, but i got the 1gb box, does anyone know if the geniatech firmware will work, i would really like the linux xbmc running on this, but it wont work.

but i have got xbmc apk version on it at the mo, and its very fast indeed.

so all in all this box is quick as, and if we can get linux xbmc version on this, this will be the ultimate box

Well I have tried the Sumvision Nano firmware on a Geniatech ATV 1000 and it worked well. I have gone back to the MyGica firmware though for ICS (MyGica Enjoy TV productos para Television Digital | Android TV | Smartv | WebTv | Multimedia)

Also the Nano is offering a Geniatech T119 TV dongle and the associated HiDTV app. I therefore assume that the Geniatech firmware is the same as the Nano firmware and are interchangeable. The only difference being the difference in bonus apps for each.

If you decide to load a new firmware, you will lose your apps and settings so back them up before you start.

well, tryed to put mygica firmware on my atv310b (1gig) last night, and i think i might of broke it.

it boots up into the normal ics screen, a bit slow tho, if i use the pinhole button to upgrade i dont get the recovery screen, and if i do an update through the upgrade option, it says its going to roboot, then it reboots then i get a black screen nothing else.

any ideas

I will get my Geniatech ATV 1000 tommorow and I want to have the latest firmware onboard.

So, can anyone tell me, where I can get a good complete 4.0 Firmeware, with Google Play Store Support? Is there a update.zip which I can download, and easily update in the build in firmeware?

Ummm...
Android Airplay apps only work with an Apple TV, not an Enjoy TV.

Airplay only applies to Apple TV.

Do you want to send video from your Android phone to your Enjoy TV?

If so, there's an app for that!

I believe so, but I run the Diamond Multimedia firmware (which does include Google Play), so I can't be sure.
