Does anyone know how I can set items to download (amazon mp3, dowloand pics from gmail, etc) to my SD rather than internal? E.g., when I download pictures from gmail or music from amazon mps, it saves to internal and not SD..I really want my downloads to go right to external SD. Any help is appreciated

After pressing download directory in settings you should see a box next to "path" with your current download location. Press this and it should show you everything which is in the folder. There should be an upwards pointing arrow in the top left corner, press this twice and you should see your external sd.

When I do this as stated I can only go up to "/mnt/sdcard". Once I get to the main sdcard directory the arrow isn't highlighted, so pushing it to go up one more level to get the extSD doesn't work.

I can't get my swipe to screenshot function to work either lol. Anyways, the highest it lets me go when pressing the up arrow is mnt/sd. There is no option to choose mnt/extsd.

What version of dolphin are you using

Yeah the problem is that to get to the external sd you need to pass through a system folder. I've thought of a solution which should work though. The older versions of dolphin let you write in your save directory so first thing you need to do is downgrade dolphin using an apk. Dolphin 8.5.1 had the old settings menu. You can then write in /mnt/extSdCard/folder name. Now head over to the play store and update dolphin to the latest. Your save directory will remain the same. It's a bit of faffing around but should work.

Most apps cannot have their downloads redirected.

Most apps download to the sdcard by default. Problem is, Samsung called the internal memory /sdcard so the apps aren't expecting anyone to want to change that.

Huge oversight by samsung imho

im new to android so excuse the ignorance but can samsung push out an update to change this if the decide its a flaw?
