so dim that they are hard to read, compared to when the phone had Gingerbread? For example, I can no longer make out the battery level icon (a 3rd party app i've used forever), or the temperature (from Weatherbug).

I've got weatherbug set to display WHITE text, but like all the other icons in the notification area, they are gray.

Yeah the icons are smaller and darker. Not a big fan of that.

shoot. was hoping to hear there was a setting I'd overlooked. I'm not impressed with ICS for the bionic, giving how it gave us back headphone whine, and for ICS phones, took away the Contacts inside the phone app. what the heck are they thinking to split up Contacts (now People) and Phone?

It hasn't given "us" back the headphone whine. I have never had a headphone whine on my phone ever.

To be honest I LOVE People!

It is awesome, it finally syncs groups with my contacts AND Allows me to edit/add people to different groups. One thing the old app was missing!

True, and I love those features, and since I use a contact widget I don't see the affect hardly at all, but I can understand why some would be upset, and honestly, there was no reason to take Contacts/People out of the Dialer.
