Root [ROM](wimax)[11/21/12][JB 4.1.2]ParanoidAndroid 2.99

I've been using this the last few days and I love it. Using the Buttered Toast kernel and this thing flies. Buttered Toast is available on the same XDA forum. MMS isn't a big loss. I haven't even tried fixing it yet using the method I used on the Optimus V (manually entering the settings into GoSMS.) I'm patient.
GoSMS works without any changes needed to the app... the stock messaging app does not work but replacing it with the one below should allow you to recieve mms but it wont work with sending mms...
Mms.apk

well it feels better than sense and i haven't seen much lag at all... but i dont know what your used too...

Well I said I was used to JB on the Galaxy Nexus. ;) Project Butter is very noticeable.

CM10 ports to the Evo 3D have been kinda choppy so far. Specifically with home screen page transitions, and notification bar pull downs - when compared to standard JB 4.1.

What could possibly be snappier than ics? I'm not used to sluggishness so I wonder how fast this is.

I wonder if a file in the framework.jar needs replacing in order to fix MMS...

I got a hunch that if we were to take a cdmasmsdispatcher.smali out of a VM phone (Say, IHO for the optimus V) and put it into the framework.jar of the Evo V and re-compile it...would it work? And change the apn config...

Who wants to give that a shot? I'm far from a developer...but this has worked before with other phones...

It was something in the mms apk itself that got receiving mms to work. I don't think anyone has isolated it yet.

My voicemail notifications aren't showing up in this rom. Is anyone else having this problem? I can access my voicemail just fine but my phone doesn't show me whether I have any in the notification bar. Everything else is working wonderfully.

I haven't noticed yet. I don't get a lot of voice mails. Just checked and had none.
Are you on the latest release?

Yep, using 2.52. I'll try reflashing tomorrow if it doesn't clear itself up. If you want to test it you can use wheresmycellphone.com to call your phone and decline the call. It has ads so it will leave a short message.

Cool! Maybe I'll try that tomorrow!

Update:
Okay. So not only am I not getting notifications. If I call my voicemail, I get an error message "wrong feature or code" message x switch y. The x and y numbers seemed to vary. Then I tried installing google voice to use for my voicemail service but then my phone wouldn't receive calls.

Gonna play with it some more when I have a chance.

Anyone else having issues with the auto backlight? Mine never seems to decrease in brightness automatically without toggling the brightness.

Also mms doesn't seem to work even with gosms...

Edit: does anybody know the MMS settings for virgin mobile USA to type into GoSMS manually?

Edit2: I tried the following setting but still no luck

MMSC: http://mmsc.vmobl.com:8088/mms?type=null
MMS Proxy:205.239.233.136
MMS Port: 81

My backlight has been fine. What problem are you having with MMS? I sent an MMS the other day and it worked fine. Not sure if I've received on yet...

Are you on 2.5 or 2.52?

I tried Google voice as well. I could receive calls but I couldn't receive voice mail. When I un installed voice I got put in a boot loop. I reflashed but couldn't get the Rom to load. For now I'm back on Mobsterz Rom, I'll definitely be trying any new updates of PA. I love the look and feel of JB.
