Help Extremely weird battery problem (for me at least)

Hi guys, new to the forums so, hey everyone! =D

Now to business...

A few months ago I installed a stock gingerbread rom on my galaxy ace. Since then, the battery started getting all weird. It started draining really fast and stuff, but now, and here comes the good part, it's completely out of its mind. Let me give you an example: today the battery died as usual, completely drained, so I go to plug the wall charger and when I do, the phone tells me it's on 72% charge the second I plug it in!!! It's riidiculous. Same thing goes for the draining, it shows 90% one second then 25% the next, LITERALLY A SECOND. I KID YOU NOT.

If anyone can help me out with this annoying problem, I'd really appreciate it. thanks for everything, you guys rock, help me out! D:

Turn down your brightness, close unnecessary programs, charge your battery first to 100% (for about 2 hours approx.) then that should increase battery life by little. There is no secret that galaxy ace's battery life is shorter than the common ones.

I am also facing the same problem and this I suppose is happening after Gingerbread upgrade. Battery charges/drains very fast. I didn't upgrade using KIES. Any suggestion?
Should i try doing factory reset?

So basically the drastic variations in the battery indicator is freaking you out.

What is the total battery life you are getting out of your battery from 100% charge to complete 0 ??

Recently, my battery has discharged from 100% to 8-9% on following instances:
1) 45-60 minutes of voice call
2) 30 minutes of Wifi (Facebook, Twitter)
3) 8-10 hours of standby
4) 1 game of stick cricket.

Also, I get a battery full indicator within 30-45 minutes of charging.

I seriously suspect this due to upgrade to Gingerbread via ODIN. Should i try upgrading again via ODIN or Factory reset?

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

First you should check if the problem is with the firmware or your battery.
You are running a stock GB firmware, it usually does not have this problem.

Check your battery first, if it gives you similar performance on other phone then your battery needs replacement, otherwise reflash the firmware through Odin.
