Nexus 7 browser, what's it like?

The N7 comes with the Chrome browser but I prefer Dolphin. I have also tried the FireFox browser since it's the browser I use on my Windows machines but thought it was horrible.

I used to have a Kindle Fire and preferred Dolphin over the Silk browser there as well. It's been awhile so I don't remember the exact reason I didn't care for it but I believe it was just not as functional.

The Kindle Fire is only semi locked down, there are ways of installing apps that aren't available in the Amazon Store.

Any of the browsers mentioned can surf and display web pages so it's really a matter of your own personal preference. Don't be afraid to try the different browsers to see which you prefer.

Chrome browser kicks the living crap out of the kindle browser. Having your bookmarks and open pages from your other devices is simply awesome. I was a dolphin browser fan until I got used to chrome. The only thing I use Dolphin for is when I need to view sites with flash.

I picked up my 16gb N7 from Walmart.

Check out the 4:40 mark of this video comparison review from Engadget.

Gives a nice comparison between Silk on the new Fire HD and Chrome on the N7. It's pretty clear who's the winner.
I haven't actually tried any other browsers on my N7 as I think Chrome get's the job done just well, but Dolphin is a great alternative (and one way to enable Flash support).

I use dolphin on my phone but gave chrome a chance since it was stock on the N7. Now I'm having a hard time deciding which to stick with.

One thing I love on Chrome is when you tap an area of a web page that has more then one link in close proximity it brings up a small zoomed in window of the area so you can tap again and make sure you hit the link you intended.

The Kindle Fire "silk" is anything but. I found it slow and frustrating. That said, I completely agree that Dolphin is even faster than Chrome. Much as I love Chrome on my PC, and the ability to synch up pages across all my devices, I find myself using Dolphin more and more.

Could not agree more. Dolphin is even smoother than Chrome.

I use dolphin exclusively on my phone, but I am using Chrome more and more on by nexus 7. I find it to be faster and websites better displayed on chrome. Couple of gripes though. No home page button, bookmarks are not readily available and clearing history etc is a pain. As stated above, not being able to organize your bookmarks stinks too. I hope they fix these things.

I would also like the option that when I open a new tab (from an existing site) in Chrome, that the new tab gets the focus and comes to the front of the open browser tabs.

My observation with Google is that everything they release is in "beta," and updates are only released when they want to release new "gee whiz" functionality.

Apple does the same thing, they release "new revoltionary features" but seem to ignore the feature requests of their users...
