First nexus 7 buyers screwed again.

I bought the 16GB a few weeks ago at full price, so I do feel a little cheated. I still got the $25 credit and the Transformers movie, so its not that bad. But still, I would have liked the extra 16GB of space.

I bought it two weeks ago as well, form Office depot, I went talked to the manager he did an exchange for the 32GB with no issues, he also told me it was not a "corporate" policy but he personally would exchange any 16GB for the 32GB with a receipt that was bought in the last 30 days if customer request it.

I'm a happy camper with the new 32

I wish now that I had pushed for an exchange instead of the price matching because I was within that 14 day window for opened technology. Duh is me. They told me that I could only trade up if I had bought the protection plan.

I've been using mine since July, have it all set up, I know what it is, what it can do, have all the apps free and purchased that I need. I've more than gotten my moneys worth for first adopter, especially considering the $25 play store credit means it was in reality on $25 more than now, and without the playstore credit. Shipping was expected and I have no problem with that either. Now moving forward, I get another one for $50 less.

Easy to duplicate it. I'm buying another nexus 7, the decision for me is cost vs added memory.

At $199, 16GB should be good to go for me for a second device. I'll unlock, copy over my nandroid backup and do a restore. 2 mirror image devices. One I can use to test ROMS, kernels, new apps, new functions, the other right where I need it until I've tested and used the new things. Then dupe it on the "production" N7.

I've got a whole test/dev/prod environment on 2 16GB n7's.

Perfect.

My glass is half full, I'm sorry yours is half empty.

Having suggested to Google that the change in price, so soon following launch, was a. Little unfair ! I received a typical response. The fact that 15 days have passed since my original purchase of a 16gb means that there will not be any recompense from Google. It would appear that those of us who took the plunge and supported this platform at launch will have to make do with what we have got!!!!!!

Yes. Much too bad. You only get what you paid for, nothing more. How sad for you. :(

I suppose you could take a knife and put it under the left side of the screen and lift it. Then you can defraud Google and get a replacement. Oh yeah, still only what you paid for. But if the screen cracks, ya got nothing but a broken N7 and tears on your face (still).

But I see where you're coming from. I bought a new Ford Truck 2 months ago. The dealer is throwing in 3 free oil changes now, I have to pay for mine. How unfair, I think the dealer should at least send me a case of oil and some filters so I can do it myself.

I love my N7 but feel screwed by the price drop / memory doubling, however you want to look at it. I could really use the extra memory (no fan of any cloud) but am not going to buy the 32gb version.

I understand how technology works and believe Google has the right to price their products however they want. I still feel screwed. I will be more cautious next time I have a choice to be an early adopter or not.

Unfortunately, Apple, Google and other Tablet manufacturers have fallen into the "charge for more drive space" bait. Even though it would be awesome to have a microUSB or USB port to slap on additional memory (for those who don't like rooting and going the OTG route), there's no money in that, hence, pay more for more memory. I don't think I got screwed at all with my N7 and the recent price drops. That's just how tech is these days and pricing. And before you know it, the second/newer version of the N7 is right around the corner.
