navigation usage question

I am sorry if this has been asked before but I am on my phone and my phone flips out if I ask it to search. I am also on the unlimited data and might be able to take one of the other upgrades on my plan but that is still up on the air.
My concern with switching to limited data is that o drive a lot to places I don't know and use Google navigation a lot. Does this use my data or is the data use only when on the web?

Thanks!

It does use data. Are you using an android phone? Because you should be able to see how much data Google nav used in the past.

Thanks so much for the responses :) I was able to upgrade the other lines so I will just transfer the phones to the main lines so I will be able to keep my unlimited :)
I ordered from Costco, they were the only ones who still had phone by the time I made the decision. Anyone else ever order from Costco online or online? Good or bad experiences with getting their rebates?

Thanks again!

I have been looking but haven't found the answer exactly in a way that makes me feel comfortable...
I upgraded the other two line and there is a mail in rebate...now do I have to activate the phones on the lines that i upgraded then do the transfer over to my line?
Or can i just activate them on my main line or will that negate the mail in rebate?
Should i go into a store or should i do it over the phone, which is easier?

thanks again!

As long as you used one of your other lines to upgrade, you can activate that phone on any line.
Main line - unlimited
Second line - teired data. - upgrade this device.
Activate on main line, keep unlimited.

That's what we did, I just want to make sure that I don't have to activate on second line first. So when the phones come in, I can just go into a Verizon store and have them activate on line 1.

Thanks for the help in keeping the unlimited, I am so excited for the S3 :) and getting it for about $60 after the stupid activation fee but hey, way better than 200 :)
