Google Wallet and Credit Card Points

I have a Amazon credit card that gives double points when shopping at certain types of stores like restaurants. If I were to use Google wallet to charge the Amazon card at McDonald's, would they give me double points or would it think I bought something from Google and give me normal points?

Has anyone checked this for any credit card benefits?

I could be wrong, but isn't it just a "wallet" that holds your credit card info? Doesn't the merchant bill your credit card directly?

It use to work that way, but with limited cards. In order to try to attract more users who didn't have one of those cards, and open capability with any credit card, they serve as a quasi card launderer. You charge using it, merchant charges google, then google charges you the same amount.
