Hello!

First of all, I am a Verizon customer.

I am currently using a Samsung Galaxy S3, but my son, who is also on my plan in needing an upgrade. I am thinking about upgrading myself to the Note2 and handing him down my S3.

When I "compare" on the Verizon site I do not get important specs like processor, display etc. I cannot even accurately determine if there is a 32GB version for the Note2.

Would you guys be helpful and willing to outline what I would be losing and/or gaining by switching from S3 to Note2?

Thank you very much!
Aly

Try phonescoop:

Compare Phones (Phone Scoop)

In short, I think you get a bigger screen, bigger battery, faster processor phone with the Note II. And I think all Note II sold outside of Korea are 16Gb internal.

I switched from an S3 to the Note 2 (Verizon) about a month ago and I absolutely love the Note 2! There's nothing you give up, unless you consider the larger size to be a bad thing - and you wouldn't be considering a Note 2 if you did! I love the larger screen (I'm not a small person!) and find I use it a lot more than the S3 because of its larger size. The battery life is outstanding too. I can easily go through an entire day of moderate/heavy use and still have lots of battery left when I go to bed. The quad core processor makes it very responsive but, to be honest, I never had an issue with the speed of the S3. I don't think you'll be sorry if you go for the Note 2.

I agree with all of the above. Additionally, I found the signal to be much stronger with the note 2.

I had the OG note and replaced it with the S3 on launch day. I loved my S3 but really found myself missing the Spen. So when the Note2 came out there was no question I would buy it. I do not regret it for one second. Battery/screen/Spen and everything else you can do makes this phone awesome. I usually get bored with a phone in the first 3 months. With this phone it seems I find out new things it can do everyday.

The Note 2 is not capable of simultaneous voice calling and internet access via 3G service, while the S3 is. Both are able to do simultaneous voice and internet via 4G. The S3 has an extra radio that allows it this function, and the Note 2 does not.

Not true at all. Like my S3 my note2 can do both with ease. Probably has to do with carrier also though.

That depends on the carrier. All Verizon phones are only able to do one or the other, not both at the same time.

As someone above me mentioned- there is NO 32GB Note 2 available for the U.S. You can however expand with a 32 or 64 mSD card.

Yeah, the standard 16GB Note 2 with a 64GB card is more than enough room even for me as I'm an app hoarder. Even with all my music/photos/movies installed on my phone, I still have over 5GB onboard and 30GB on the SD card left.

And having played with both the Note 2 and SIII on AT&T, I prefer the Note 2 simply due to the larger screen. The faster processor RAM and all that are great too but after using the Note 2 for a couple months now, all other phones seem like toys in comparison.

Or you could just wait for the S IV to come out and be done with it.
