What high end phones do you think virgin Mobile probably get next?

If the rumors are to be believed, at some point VM will get the iPhone 5 but we've still not heard rumors of Boost getting it.

Well, if what you're saying is true (which it seems to be to me...it makes a lot of sense!) wouldn't Boost get the next iPhone since Virgin has one already? That would make us in line for something else.

But seriously, that is a great point you have made. As far as speculation goes...maybe the Photon for us, and we can ship the Triumph to boost

Personally? I'd like to see more motorola devices on VM. Something that wasn't rushed like the Triumph (Though, once ROM'd it was a GREAT phone.)

I had the OG Droid and the Motorola Devour. I loved those things.

Time will tell, I suppose.

It does seem like this would make the most sense -- just offer the VM "limited plans" (the 300 minutes for $35, 1200 minutes for $45, and the PayLo plans); then offer Boost's unlimited plan with the graduated discount for keeping the plan.

The Boost stores would then directly support customers of both companies, as well as having a better selection of phones for both Boost and VM customers; while there is less administrative overhead as you aren't staffing two separate companies.

I'm guessing, however, there is something in the agreement from when Sprint bought out VM, or that allows them to use the Virgin name, that is keeping it from happening.

The S3 will most probably not arrive to VMUSA at all due to its LTE which VM doesn't have LTE (yet) but there is major romurs of VM will get the S2 4G sometime this year (2012) with Android 4.0 ICS
So about thinking maybe wont help!

Samsung Galaxy S II 4G is nice but it is a last year phone.

VM USA can attract more people if they have 4G LTE and phones like HTC DNA and Samsung Galaxy Note II.

The Wi-Max 4G is not capable and is not available everywhere.

A lot of people are holding onto their 25 USD plan due to lack of capable phones and lack of 4G LTE.

Hopefully, Sprint Network Vision will improve 3G experience and 4G LTE will be deployed everywhere.

Virgin Mobile appears to disagree with you. I seem to recall, when the Evo V and the iPhone were released, that Virgin Mobile told reporters they were seeing if they could sell "high end phones" (despite both being a year old), that they didn't believe that there was a prepaid market for the new, $600 phones.

There have been news leaks that Virgin is going to add LTE in the next couple of months (first quarter of 2013), though the phone that has been rumored, a Samsung Victory, is less than exciting. Though it was also reported there is a Virgin Mobile version of the iPhone 5, and I trust it will be released once Virgin opens up LTE.

But to go back to my point, Virgin's business model is targeted toward young people -- either teenagers still at home or twenty-somethings that are in college or working their first full time jobs. As such, they don't see their customers as being able to afford $600 phones so they are unlikely to release high end phones.

And that is before you factor in Sprint, who doesn't want a low cost prepaid provider that they own (either VM or Boost) competing with them for the high end phone market.

I kinds find this offensive even though it's true; actually it kinda just makes me feel sad and poor.

I am quite the opposite, I feel happy about using VM. I don't feel richer, but definitely satisfied.

My wife is looking forward to VM's iPhone 5 with 4G capability. So I am hoping that rumor is true. IF iPhone 5 with LTE comes to VM, she'll turn in her company Blackberry.

Or you could spend less than half that and buy a Nexus 4, which is arguably just as good, if not better. $650 for any phone, pfft.

I'm hoping VM starts dropping LTE soon. I don't even care about the internet speeds, but with LTE comes LTE-enabled phones, which means they're newer phones, rather than outdated.

But the lte phone rumored was the victory, which people aren't too happy to hear.

Every rumor site that I've read indicated that Virgin would roll out LTE in the second quarter with mid range phones, relatively high end LTE phones aren't expected till the end of the year. :rolleyes:

Has Virgin Mobile USA ever released a high end phone? I'm guessing if they plan on releasing a "high end phone" at the end of the year, they are talking about phones that currently are considered high end, and will only be mid range at the end of the year.

I'm guessing this was in response to me and my point still stands. The iPhone 4s was 9 months old when it was finally released by Virgin Mobile; the 4 was just over two years old. Virgin Mobile's "high end" phones typically are 9 months to a year old. Hopefully VM will release the iPhone 5 before it is 9 months old.
