Root [International] New ROM

Hi guys,

Currently running Ultima ROM v8.1 and its pretty good, its based on the Sammy firmware and is fairly stable. Im finding it a bit slow and thats starting to bug me. I like the JB Domination theme and would like some thing thats fast, looks like an AOSP ROM but with all the sammy stuff working.

CM10 isnt a stable release and i really dont want a buggy phone.

Ideas?

i9300 handset FYI.

Ultima is wanam lite + jb dom. I use that combo manually and find the latest versions fast.

You could try another kernel. I've not tried aosp on the s3 so I've no basis for comparison. A lot of the "speed" could relate to your choice of launcher.

A ROM itself, is only going to be responsible for a minute portion of the performance. Its mostly kernel and set up. So swapping between different sammy based roms isn't going to make much difference. Try the perseus or siyah kernels

could try CodecROM too!
its based on Sammy, had a few framework mods under the hood, looks and feels like AOKP/AOSP, but retains most of the sammy features.

I've tried AKOP and AOSP on the S3, but the camera is w@nk TBH and the battery life is no where near a samsung base.... There is some cool features tho...
Codec is GREAT compromise.... and my ROM of choice!

Perseus and Boeffla are worth a try too, I'm getting 6hrs screen time with either on Codecrom.
If you like to tweak your screen setting Perseus is for you, but IMO Boeffla edges the sound quality

Thanks guys, really appreciate it! Codec ROM looks cracking, but im gonna give WanamLite a try first!

Already running Siyah kernal with Ultima ROM. Do i need to install Siyah manually with these new ROMs?

it depends if the install of the rom is aroma then most give u an option to install siyah during the install of the rom.

Wanam gives an option not to update the kernel, meaning it will remain unchanged
