[ROM][4.2.2][JDQ39][03/06/2013] CM10.1 for SPH-D710VMUB

I tried this coming from FL14 as well but I'm a tool & screwed my phone up by running Titanium Backup trying to get my Contacts back, which I shouldn't have done but did anyways. Can someone dumb it down for me on how to properly get my backups on this ROM? A link at least would be nice.

In the meantime, I'm going back to FL14. I really want this upgrade tho.

Well restoring user apps and data can be done with TiBu but never use it to restore system apps or data when coming from a ROM that is different. As for contacts I have mine synced with my Google account so they automatically get synced when I set up my Google.

And I have no Bluetooth devices to test with but I will look into the issue. If we can get some more field testing on Bluetooth devices that would be great. Maybe even some logcats!

And where is the latest vvm app located at? Are you referring to the one in the fl14 ROM? Because I had tried that one before but I couldn't get it to work but that was in the early stages of my work!

where can i find a kernal to allow oc'ing the cpu. this oen seems stock. i tried one of the other ones i found on this thread n it bricked the phone n would not load up.

As of right now there are no overclocked kernels for cm10/cm10.1 that I know of. And the touch wiz based ROMs will most definitely soft brick the device. The kernels and RAM disk are just far to different. There may be some custom kernels for cm10 at CDA for the epic 4g touch but I wouldn't swear to it. The development of 4.2.1 for this phone is relatively new so no one has been making custom kernels. I do plan on adding features to the kernel like over clocking and more governors and everything so that will come with time!

Also as of right cm has not added the carrier text changing ability to cm10.1 and I don't know if they will but I will look into seeing how hard it is to do because I believe aokp has the functionality in it. There may be and unmerged commit for it on the cm gerrit that just hasn't made its way into the main cm code base. I'll look into it though!

Flash or install SuperSU if you did. From what I read, that should work?

This ROM includes Superuser, as well as the su binary. Now if you are talking about adb root access, you have to allow adb to have root access through the settings because by default it only allows root access to apps.

And I am using the FL26 modem, becuase I had installed the FL26 update on my phone. Now I realize not only is their no zip for the FL26 modem but there aint one for the FJ12 modem as well. I know I have a copy of the FJ12 modem.bin so I will make a cwm zip of the FJ12 modem, and if I can pull the FL26 modem.bin off of my phone I will make one of that as well. But either modem should work about the same. I am sure samsung didnt change to much in the modem with the FL26 update.

Also note that some people on the E4GT at xda have noted that some of the gingerbread modems are quite good, but as always YMMV!

I think we used EG30 modem for ParanoidAndroid. Maybe that will work as well for this.

Does anyone have a problem where their phone just hangs when calling someone? I try to hang up because the counter doesn't begin and it says hanging up and won't let me. I have to restart the phone to get rid of the 'in call' status. Also had this problem in PA.

Hm i have never experienced this in any of the roms. Very strange indeed. If you could get a logcat while its doing that it could potentially help find out whats causing it.

Also I have not tried the FJ12 modem on this ROM but I'm sure some of the others have. If anyone can comment on mms working using the fj12 modem then please speak up. It may just be a fluke. I would try reflashing and wiping data and cache because i have never had a problem out of mms since i initially fixed it on my older test builds.

Haha, I'm also starting to feel like I'm a bit at home again. It's been a while too coming from the Optimus with CM7 to the Evo V (had no CM) to this phone. Do you think there is any chance that you could upload the VVM apk?

This is the one I was using in FL14. The first time I ran Voicemail in FL14 it asked if I wanted to update. This is the version I received. The most noticeable setting is to allow a light or dark theme to the app. I couldn't get it to run with CM10.1. It said there was a voicemail but couldn't download it. While I like this interface it wasn't a deal breaker for me. The Version is 5.3.3.18.

I'd send you my logcats but where are they located? Still learning the file structure of the underlying Linux on the phones.

Yes the one in FL14 was updated to version 5.3.3.18 when I installed it a week ago. I tried it but it kept saying it couldn't find my voicemail though it did know one was there.

There is a FJ12 modem on Rwilco12's site because I downloaded and installed it from here Rwilco12's Android Repository - Downloads

I also want to add that MMS works great so far with this modem. I had someone send me some large pictures and they all arrived ok. Would be nice to try the FL26 modem if your able to extract it off your phone.

Yeah, I tried to update the VVM app on FL14 a few moments ago and it says "General Failure. Please try again at a later time" so I am stuck on Visual Voicemail version 5.3.1.20
Just wanted to share that so it may be known that's its not just an issue with CM10 that you can't upgrade to the new VVM version.
Seems you can only update the app on FJ12 or FL26 at this time?

Tried this ROM last night and everything seemed great, but it broke 3G for me. It was saying 3G was connected in the notifications bar, but nothing was actually connecting in any app. I could only place/receive calls and SMS/MMS. I did a bit of Googling and found out the APN might have been reset incorrectly during the flash, so but there wasn't much luck in finding the right APN, as they were all for Virgin Mobile UK or Austrailia, and I'm in the US.

I did my research, but have found nothing, so for now I guess my only option is to restore my backup of stock (rooted) ROM and stick with that until this kink gets ironed out. I did also try the Jelly Bean leak a few weeks ago, but that was fairly unstable on my phone back then.

Did you flash the right modem? You must flash an ICS based modem as the instructions in the OP stated.. such as EG30 or more commonly, the FJ12 modem..
