hey guys. ive come here because ive tried just about everything and im hoping someone here can help. ive searched and tried everything ive found, pretty much everywhere links to stock images and fastboot tutorial, tried that!

my phone,
Verizon Galaxy
was running AOKP 4.2 JB-MR1 Build 2 and Franco Kernel Nightly r-364
now stock 4.1.1 after trying to get this fixed

Been running this stable, No reboots, FC's NOTHING since i installed over a month ago.
today i just reboot my phone (just out of habit, dot it once a day or so) and it bootloops. i think no biggie, reboot into recovery wiped cache and dalvik cache reboot. bootloops again.
i then wipe EVERYTHING and reflash JB-MR1 Build 2 and gapps, again it bootloops so now im worried and i try wiping and flashing the AOKP 4.1 ROM and GAPPS and still nothing (only 2 ROMs on my sd card)

go on XDA find stock images here https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
and manually flash them just as shown here http://androidforums.com/verizon-ga...ore-vzw-samsung-galaxy-nexus.html#post3957198
try to reboot and again BOOTLOOP it boots past the GOOGLE plash screen, then shows the colored nexus "X" for a second or 2 and reboots.

so if anyone could be of any assistance it would be greatly appreciated, im faily comfortable with command promt and adb/fastboot but have no idea where to go from here.

EDIT:tried file system check as was suggested by someone else, found errors and repaired. still wouldn't boot. im left thinking it was a hardware malfunction, probably with the RAM as it just wouldn't boot past a certain point like it didnt have the memory for it. and i had done everything im aware of as far as software goes to fix it. but i could be wrong. anyway, got a replacement on the way for $100.

Hey King,

Have you tried this:

Copy contents of internal storage to computer.
In fastboot mode:
Lock then unlock bootloader
Flash stock images (4.2.2 is the latest)
Flash custom recovery (TWRP 2.4.3 for example)
Flash PRIMECL03 Bootloader if you aren't using it already.
Reboot and run stock for a bit.

Let me know your findings if you go this route.

The key to it all is that if you have some funky data corruption going on, wiping it by locking then unlocking is a great first step to resolving it. Might save you 100 bucks.

Indeed you did...however, the main ingredient here is the locking and unlocking of your bootloader to remove the data corruption you might be facing. When I went from ICS to JB, I ran into a similar bootloop problem. My solution was to do what I described on my previous post. Whatever data corruption I had ended after a FULL device wipe which came from locking and unlocking. Hope that helps.

i had already unlocked and locked it more than once in my efforts to fix this. after trying the file system check as suggested to me. i went all the way stock, locked and all then unlocked it and tried rebooting before installing custom ROM or recovery with no luck.

Damn bro...sorry about that. Glad you have a replacement coming.

Didn't you used to have an LG Ally?

sure did, kinda funny, been using it these past few days, no sd card, smashed screen, had been dropped in water, hadnt been turned on in almost a year after using it for over 2 years. but sure enough i threw it on the charger, had to wipe everything to get it to boot since i had removed the sdcard and it has served me perfectly well these past few days.
