Maxx HD has been more laggy lately

For the last few days my phone has been stuttering more than usual. No new apps, but maybe an update is the culprit...

If I restart, it smooths things out for a while, and I now find I have to this about once a day to keep the phone relatively snappy.

Anyone else experiencing the same? And btw, I am using the forced gpu developer option, which seemed to be quite an improvement (for a while anyway)...

Mine does that once in awhile. Usually a cache clear fixes it.

I have the same thing sometimes with the GS3 and it has 2GB of ram. I think it is an Android OS issue, rather than a Maxx HD issue and "clogs" up sometimes and could be a few app causing it or cache issues.

In fact, every Android device I have owned had the issue on occasion.

It's no different than a normal computer. The longer you go between reformats, the more junk accumulates. Sometimes a simple cache clear fixes things, sometimes a factory reset is required.

Easy way would be to get an app like "App 2 SD" which can clear all the cache in one shot. Or you can do it by going to Settings, Apps, click on the app of your choice, Clear Cache.

or use Easy Cache Cleaner. or just restart your phone...

Honestly though if it's been a while using the phone, adding apps, not clearing cache under major apps like the browser, Chrome, or whatever then I would really just do a factory reset and go from there. It will HUGELY improve the performance and start fresh. Way worth it for a constantly laggy phone.

Short of a factory reset, I monitor my RAM, via Settings --> Applications --> Running Services. And then uninstall all the constantly-running RAM hog apps that I can, and look for more RAM-friendly alternatives.
