Hey there fellow owners, and maybe some soon to be ex-owners... If it's time for that fancy large device you've always wanted, but are worried about returning this luxurious little power puff with su and SuperSU installed this might be the thing for you. If you are gonna pass the phone on to your Uncle Fanny and are a bit worried he might break something important, you want this. You may even need this.
Hear this testimony from one user:
"One day I walked into the VMO and was like all dude can I replace this thing? It's all slippery. and he was like How slippery?"

See what I mean, that could be you!!!

What it is: A .zip file that is small enough to be discrete, yet powerful enough to make her hum.
What it does: The files inside are custom written scripts designed to break root access to your phone and remove ALL traces of possible root, except FLASH COUNT. The stock recovery will be written over any custom recovery (CWM and TWRP). so the device will be almost like new in that regard. But make sure you flash it AFTER removing any system apps or mods you may have flashed because you will be stuck at that point and have to start over.

Here is the file. Put it on your sdcard and do what needs be done.

For quality control be aware that counted minutes were used for the imperfection of this OUDHS product. Come to OUR FORUM to see what else we've been up to.

And, look out for our new WEBSITE coming soon!

<<<<<-------------------EDIT STARTS HERE------------------>>>>>>>
1. I am assuming that if you are using this unroot method you have already used ODIN to flash a custom recovery to your device.
2. Download the file and put it somewhere on the sdcard.
3. This file is designed to be "flashed" using the custom recovery. There are two ways to access the custom recovery. One is to use a tool called ADB, but an explanation of that method is outside the scope of this thread. The second method is to power off the device in the usual way, with the power button and subsequent choice menu.
4. Once the phone is completely off, press volume up + power. Small blue letters will appear in the top left corner of the screen. Once you see them let go immediately and the device will boot into recovery.
5. Once the Graphical User Interface (GUI, pronounced gooey) appears tap the "Install" icon and navigate to the file you downloaded. Once you find the file select it by touching it. Swipe the blue dot from left to right to complete the flash. Your device no longer has root and a stock recovery has been written back to the device.

What this file does: This file removes SuperSu, Superuser and/or Busybox from the device and copies a factory recovery to the device.

What the file does not do: the file does not remove or restore any applications you might have installed or removed. All it does is what is stated directly above. If you want to uninstall/restore apps that is also outside the scope of this thread. This thread is about UNROOT only, not device restore. There are other threads for that already

So....will this work for Virgin mobile? Also, is there away to get a VM victory back to stock?

Not yet. I have a dump of some system files but i do not have a fill set or full image. If anyone would like to help provide them i can make it happen. This will un-root a virgin device and flash a stock recovery. If you don't have a custom recovery wait until tonight and I'll post an un-root for that too.

Need unroot method for virgin mobile samsung victory. Odin TWRP works to root but currently at 4.1.2. If they release 4.2 OTA we won't be able to upgrade. I'm now rooted but need to know how to get back to stock. Also seems like battery drains quicker since rooting with TWRP. Please help us VM users just incase needed just for warranty purposes.
Thank You

Because of how the kernel and processor parse the partitions on the device this unroot will work for Sprint and Virgin. I used this exact same stock recovery to upgrade from ICS to JB. And if I'm wrong, there's nothing I can do about it right now because I'm still on 4.1.2 LEAKED test build and NO ONE is on 4.2.2 to do any testing. Also, recovery and root have nothing to do with battery life. There are no hidden processes sucking the voltage out of your device. There is nothing about recovery that effects a running system. If you think you have battery issues, there are ways to determine a real problem, but I'm leaving it up to you and the rest of the community to figure it out. Please don't misunderstand this decision. I simply don't have time to be a tech for everyone who thinks they have a problem with their device.

Thank You for your quick response and time to reply. Battery drain may just be myself not remembering the average daily drain. My Samsung Victory shipped with 4.1.2 and would think this phone would get the 4.2 update. So this zip will revert everything back to complete stock? You replied with yes but may I ask why you mention Flash Count won't be reset? I have seen some unroots that reset flash counts. Why would a flash count matter? Does Virgin check flash counts if sent in for repairs? Also can we update TWRP to 2.5 reflashing with Odin? Any benefits to keeping TWRP up to date? If we were to update to TWRP 2.5 what direction steps would you take to update TWRP? With the Zip file ran that you posted and if 4.2 is released it would allow OTA update if it becomes available? I've rooted most phones with CWM so rooting and roms are nothing new. Was one of the lucky who had a Optimus V with 2.2.1 and not the later reissue of 2.2.2.

Thank You... again :)

Understanding better as this thread goes. TWRP that is explained to use is outdated. Why would a person not want to start with newest version? As for mentioning this unroot does not reset flash counter. Those that are unsure of why it would matter. Like myself. Must mean that it is a problem with getting a warranty with flash count changed. Meaning provider may check to see if it was "rooted" and you eat the cost of this phone. Also for putting unroot on sd card and do what needs to be done. What? Was asking how to run the unroot. As I'm sure most others will wonder the same. How to run it? I'm positive that putting a file on a sd card will not just run by itself. Maybe code written to count down till time expires then self extracts? Just when running the risk of a $250 loss clearer instructions would be helpful. Then we get to the remove any mods etc.. so uninstall SuperU and busybox isn't uninstallable. Just would be so much easier if instructions were clearer. Sorry to sound not as advanced but most aren't. Looking at everything as average user. . Would be great to get a step by step. My apologies for how this may come across but I've been a PC tech for 20yrs but not a cellphone coder. If I don't explain in easy to understand steps. Then they will be asking again to explain it but at a more understandable step by step.

Thanks

Using TWRP to undo root.. When picking install TWRP does not recognize your image file..? New update for the Victory came out and now it just keeps telling me about the update but need to unroot to install. How to unroot with TWRP.. When entering recovery mode it goes to TWRP. Help?
If you will upload the update.zip file you should have in your /cache directory, we should be able to modify it to work with twrp.

On the OUDHS website is this the correct file for un-root to stock per the instructions in the OP:
victory_jb_factoryreset.zip

Is this one to return you to stock ICS:
L300VPALH1_ICS

Thanks

I'm on a Chrombook so I can't copy the links, but the unroot is called Victory-Unroot.zip and to return to stock you kinda have to jump through some hoops, but that is the link to the file.

Thanks i was looking under stock, but found it under "other" Victory-Unroot.zip on the website. Could you elaborate on the hoops, because it seems pretty straightforward? I was a little unsure about flash "after removing any system apps or mods you may have flashed because you will be stuck at that point and have to start over."

Also, what are the files under "stock" that I listed above then used for?

Sorry new to this,
