Screen resolution / battery life

I have taken some interest to the Sony Xperia Acro S as I recently found out I probably could manage a 4,3" inch screen in my pocket.

One of the big pros about the Acro S is its ruggedness, but I wonder if the screen resolution really is worth its price.

What do you think?
The Acro S has one of the biggest batteries out there, but an HD screen like this kills it quite fast.
Do you really need the screen resolution?

Me and a friend talked about the glory days of monochrome screens (or whatever the old phones like Nokia 3310 was using) the other day. We said that it would be nice to be able to switch between HD and black/white LCD for apps that doesn't need all that graphics swag. :car:

yes the screen draws a lot of power. this is also the case with every other smart phone on the market today. personally I only noticed battery draining being a problem when gaming processor heavy games. then again I don't normally game on the phone, so my battery would probably last 2 days with my normal use, maybe more. And that's not bad at all.
