What Was The Last Live Band You Saw

I think it was April 14th 2012

Cannibal Corpse with Exhumed, Abysmal Dawn and some deathcore band.

Exhumed was the reason I went to the show and I was not alone in that decision. Rightfully so. The guys seemed incredibly down to earth.

They basically started by advocating stealing their album. Their set wasn't saturated with new tracks. They played a couple new tracks from All Guts, No Glory, but they really had a nice mix of stuff all the way through their career.

They aren't a bunch of bull crap studio magic. They sound great live. They had a good mix too.

I don't care if Rammstein did it first. There's 7 billion people. You can't be original every time. On stage they had guy with a butcher's apron splattered with blood and a jason mask. He had a prop chainsaw (I think... It was pretty loud). They had him come out with a severed head. The head had a hole he opened in the neck where he dumped out the brains and splatter.

I am glad that I always considered Exhumed to be one of my favorite bands after seeing them.

The last band I saw didn't actually have a name, it was composed of some of the finest Soul and R & B musos in Sydney doing a tribute/benefit gig for the late Ron Barry, arguably the best male R & B singer Sydney has produced. Prior to that, last Friday I saw Blue Moon Theatre, a band of sixteen year old school kids who, although they do need more rehearsal, were surprisingly good. I'll be putting bits of each gig up on my yootoob channel in the not too distant future...

Blue Moon Theatre have asked me not to put any of their gig up on yootoob, have to honour their request even though I didn't think they were bad at all, even if a little rough around the edges at times.

Will be working on post production of the Ron Barry benefit gig if i get the time this weekend...
