Help Transferring SMS files to a PC

Ok basically all I want to do is transfer my SMS messages to my PC because my phone is getting very slow from the amount of space being used up by text messages.

I've read about how you can install an app that does this, via Google or something, but I just can't dot that because for some stupid reason my phone hasn't come with an Andriod market app or a Google Play app, so when I go on the browser it tells me I can't install that app because I haven't signed into Google Play on my phone before, and like I said, I just can't.

I've also tried backing the SMS files along with other files up on my phone, which makes them accessible to me via my PC when using the file manager from PC Companion, and this is an sbf file which I have been told cannot be opened on a PC.

Is there any other way I could do this?

Thanks in advance :)

Not sure why your phone didn't come with a Google Market or Google Play Store - that baffles me.

But anyway to answer your question, download the Amazon Appstore from their website and then you can download SMS Backup to backup your text messages to a GMail account for archival purposes.

Amazon Appstore: Amazon.com: Appstore for Android

SMS Backup: Amazon.com: SMS Backup+: Appstore for Android
