I always regret a pre-order where the "exclusive" content is eventually released as a DLC to buy rather than remaining exclusive. That, or the game turned out to be over hyped and isn't good. A game I regret buying is Clive Barkers Jericho. Such a bad game IMO. Share what you regret buying or pre-ordering. :)

Risen 2. I didn't pre order it but still bought it when it was quite new and expensive. RPG and pirates, how could you possibly go wrong? Somehow they managed to make one of, if not the worst game I've ever played. Your character spends most his time telling people that he's the savior of the Caribbean yet he doesn't know how to fight, I couldn't even stop a guy from mugging me in a bar for talking (politely I'll add) to one of his girls. If that was the only problem it wouldn't have been too bad as I know his skills would improve as I played. But the shocking gameplay, pretty poor graphics and the fact that other characters would answer questions that I hadn't even asked yet meant that I couldn't continue playing after that unfortunate pimp incident.

Prototype 2. I almost cancelled the pre-order, and ended up wishing I had. The game wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. The graphics were ugly; too much brown. I didn't like the main character. The combat system was a mess. I mean, there were so many moves that you ended up hitting x+y, b+y, etc. for a lot of them, which made it very awkward. Plus, the moves were so similar it felt button-mashy. Mainly, the game was very repetitive and not much fun. If I had paid $10 for it instead of $60 it would have been fine.

That was pretty much the end of pre-orders for me. I think I've only pre-ordered Halo Reach, and Borderlands 2 since. I knew I was going to play both of those, and the pre-order bonuses were enticing.

Didn't pre-order, but paid full price for Brutal Legend. I loved the metal aesthetic. I never could get the hang of the combat system for the big battles. Never finished it.

I've bought a lot of used games that I probably shouldn't have; shouldn't have because my back log has become so big I will likely never play many of them. I tried playing Mercenaries 2 recently. It took about an hour before I decided there were probably better games I should be playing instead...

A game I truly regret ever buying was two Worlds. Terrible story line and the main character is such a doufus and a tool all rolled into one. How can anyone take a character serious like that when he's telling everyone about an evil called the taint?
Never pre-ordered it, but I have Br

I regret buying ALL my games, I've wasted so much time on them

Well, maybe not regret, maybe more feel vaguely guilty about .. though not enough to stop me playing :D

Worst games I've bought were:

Red Orchestra 2 - terrible in every way
Doom 4 (?) - poor game play, no variety
Duke Nukem Forever - I knew it was going to be dire, but I just couldn't resist the nostalgia .. maybe it needed more time in dev :D

Crysis 3 looked just as bad, bad story, basically a copy of the map they used in the last game, etc. I'm glad I didn't buy that one, the franchise went to hell in a handbasket starting with Crysis 2.

It was not as good as the first in being open world, but it was much more open than the second while retaining some of the streamlined controls. It was a blast, though my favorite is still the first 60% of Crysis 1.
