Root Thunderbolt Stuck in Bootloader

Need help. I am stuck in Bootloader even after deleting all the .zip files from the root of my SD card. A factory reset or recovery does nothing to assist. Below is what I see when originally selecting BOOTLOADER. I can't get out of this function to start the phones OS. I received the problematic code from the link below, as it removed the root from my phone and 4G. Then I tried to put an old version of the radio back on, and that's when it broke.

You just need to flash an RUU. From your boottloader info, you are on really old, pre-shipping firmware

I'm on my phone,so I can't link it currently, but the thunderbolt rom list has a list of firmware in the 3rd post.pick one and download it. I'd start with shipping firmware(1.12.605.6)

You can use the PG05IMG files by putting them on your SD card via a card reader.

You can use .exe files by placing the phone in fastboot(select fastboot from the menu you showed above) and clicking on the download to start the software.

With an s-on hboot, you'll only be able to flash signed by HTC RUUs,and you'll only be able to flash ones newer than your current one. So start with shipping firmware so you'll have more options to try if it doesn't work.

So I took your advice and downloaded a new ROM (or rather old one), and then I extracted it. I could not find a .exe. I ended up copying signed_032111_214510.zip to the root of the SD drive, but the bootloader would not do anything. It found the radio upgrade and acknowledged it (fastboot), but I was not given an offer to upgrade it.

When I download a 230MB ROM, what am I supposed to do? I am downloading the correct file?

Thanks,

I am having a similar issue, but I am not able to establish a USB connection to my Thunderbolt while it is stuck on the boot screen.

I am on Mac OS X and cannot see the device drive using ADB or Finder. I do not have a card reader suitable for my sdcard, is this my only option?

I suspect I may be out shopping for a card reader tomorrow...

Don't extract the files. If you're using a PG05IMG file you just need to rename "PG05IMG",place on your sd card, and let hboot flash or.

Again, use the files on post 3 of the thunderbolt Rom list. With s-on,you will have to stick with HTC approved firmware.

thanks dark jedi. been a busy couple days.

tequila,go to the link dark provided.

use this one:
-shipping firmweare(1.12.605.6)
[ROM]Mecha_VERIZON_WWE_1.12.605.6_Radio_1.16.00.0223r_N V_8k_1.41_9k_1.64_release - xda-developers

if that one doesnt work,go to the one right after. work your way up,till you find one that works ;)

that one should fix you up however, and youll OTA soon after flashing it.

the steps,again:
1)download the file
2)check it with an md5 summer on your PC
3)transfer it to your sd card via card reader(yes, its the only way,so go buy one)
4)rename it on your sd card to "PG05IMG"

power on into hboot and let the update flash by selecting yes with the volume up rocker when asked if you want to update.

if there is any doubt that yuor phones battery is less than 50%(ideally it would be fully charged) take it to a store and see if they can charge it for you before doing this.

I tried the steps above with the same effect. Any chance I can upgrade my bootloader somehow? Otherwise I might be working on a way to short circuit the phone, so I can get one though warranty.

the steps,again:
1)download the file
2)check it with an md5 summer on your PC. Could not find one but the created one is 7141F5620F6128AF77D50587E341F4B0.
3)transfer it to your sd card via card reader(yes, its the only way,so go buy one)
4)rename it on your sd card to "PG05IMG"

power on into hboot and let the update flash by selecting yes with the volume up rocker when asked if you want to update. It did not even find this one.

if there is any doubt that your phones battery is less than 50%(ideally it would be fully charged) take it to a store and see if they can charge it for you before doing this. More than enough power.

it was that i finally found a PG05img.zip and it asked me to update. i updated it and was happy but my phone still keeps bootlooping i looked back on the booloader and it says i need a PG05Diag.zip and a PG05DIAG.nbh also and i dont know where to get that and I need to enable usb debugging but i can't because of the bootloop and i forgot my password.

my bootloader says
