Just tested that App.

Doesn't seem to work.
It says it does but dashboard still shows only the devices I actually own.

But are you able to download apps that were previously incompatible? That's what the apps for.

Alternatively, assuming you have root you can just change the build.prop

That's what the market uses to determine your device. Just make sure to back up your old one.

Even then it won't let you update Google now I've tried. I even used device spoofer. But it says ICS isn't compatable with it

Nope. Was looking to install Facebook home but it did nothing to my Google account. I'd assume it should register my device as an s3 or something but NO changes occurred

Any idea what the htc1x model number is? I think it's like s720e or something.

I'm using a modded fb home App right now but can't update due to resigning.
