New Metro Tethering Problem?

I recently bought a new 4g phone after dropping my Avid in a mud puddle and ruining it. This one is a samsung galaxy exhibit. On my Avid and my other 4g phones before that, messing with the user agent in my browser would work fine. With this one, no matter the device, no matter the user agent, when I open a browser window it takes me to this screen with the metro hotspot logo telling me to log in to add it to my account. At this point, I would if it didn't cut my data to 2.5gb. Has anyone else seen a way around this problem? I've searched high and low around the net to no avail.

I started another thread similar to this one for people to post known work arounds (vs maybe this will work or this worked 6 months ago but doesn't now)

I spent awhile looking at the T-Mo vids on YouTuber, specifically the more recent ones figuring them more likely to be on the current network.

All of the 3 or 4 I saw were for Rooted phones. (All used a Rooted Only WiFi app and a user agent switcher.)

So I do need to root, hm. I wouldn't mind but I still haven't been able to find a way to root my phone. It's not the samsung exhibit everyone keeps linking me to. It's a sgh-t599n and the only thing that comes up on Google in regards to rooting is a YouTube video I think in Portuguese
it appears that this phone is the exact same as the tmobile version.

Can you find root for the tmo variant? use the same method on yours.

Same hardware Same software, might be different bloatware though.:)

I posted this on another thread but I figured it may help someone in here as well. I am currently using the GS4 from MetroPCS and I got USB tethering to work with PDAnet+/FoxFi with User Agent Switcher on Chrome (The User Agent Switcher I used on chrome is the one that has 22 different profiles to pick from). When I first tried to connect, I got the MetroPCS popup that told me to add the hotspot feature to my plan. I went to Google and it connected just fine. From there, I switched the User Agent to the iPad profile and went to YouTube and I was able to play a video. The only problem is that PDAnet+/FoxFi have a data usage limit and you will either have to unlock the full version or reset the USB tether to keep using it. I was wondering if someone can try this same method for BYOD.
