HELLO FRIENDS,

MY S2 WHEN I PRESS THE PHYSICAL BOTTOMS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN DO NOT RESPOND SOMETIMES, I AM TALKING ABOUT THE
MENU, HOME,RETURN AND SEARCH BOTTOMS AT THE BOTTOM. SOMETIMES THEY DONT RESPOND, THATS ONE

ANOTHER PROBLEM IS THAT I AM TRYING TO UDDATE TO JELY BEAN WITH THE KIES SOFTWARE ALREADY INSTALLED ON MY COMPUTER, AND ON MY PHONE BUT THE SYSTEM IT DOES NOT RECOGNIZE MY PHONE OR IT RECOGNIZES AND THEN DESCONECT, SOMETIMES IT RECOGNIZES BUT IT LOOKS LIKE IT JUST FREEZES UP AND IT GET STUCK ON THE UPDATE SECTION.

DOES ANYBODY IS HAVING THESE PROBLEMS???

THANKS,:smokingsomb:

When did you start having problems with the hard keys (menu, home, back, and search)?

For the update, use a one click install it is much easier. Check your USB cable to make sure it is good (those do go bad sometimes). Do not have kies running on the pc. Download the exe file from the link at the bottom of this post (rooted or unrooted your preference). The nodata one does not format the user data and the full restore one does. Run the exe to extract the installer then run the installer. Next put your phone in download mode and then connect it to the pc via the cable (usb 2.0 port on the pc works best). When you see the comport on the installer light up, hit the start button.

Note: download mode is powering the phone up with the power and volume down held, then at the warning display hit volume up.

The dead buttons at the bottom is another variant of the phantom click. If you turn the display off, quickly push the power button and then push it again the display will go off and then back on. You should be able to use the buttons at that time. You will notice when the dead buttons happens you probably also have no bars. There is no fix for it just go with it. As far as the phone not wanting to work with your computer, try another USB port. I found my phone can't deal with my USB 3 ports and needs a slower port. You will find using another port will also reinstall the driver and that can also solve the problem. If you are feeling adventurous go with the one-click that Codegerm suggested. It is the same thing that Kies is giving you but you have much more control plus i think it is faster. And you can reinstall the one-click any time you want. So if you are playing with your phone and seriously mess it up just do the one click again and it is all good. Or it dies on you do the one-click again and that will likely revive it. Good luck.

Sure try a different port and see if Kies works. If now then consider the one clic which are pretty safe. As long as Odin sees the phone and you don't do anything funky with the phone or computer while it is updating, it is a pretty safe way to go. Make sure you turn off your computer screen saver.

Here is a video on using Odin, he uses a different version of the one-click file but the process is still the same. Give it a watch it but it doesn't get important until 2.5 min in as Codegerm gave you the link for the one-click that you will need.
