Looking to pick up a USB car charger the ones that have the USB ports on them and you use your own cable .. With so many different ones rated at different amps*Watts*volts.etc... Which one is the correct one needed to charge the note 3 at the correct rate? I will also be using it to charge me wife's note 2 as needed also ..

Thanks

something like this is perfect:

Anker 18W / 2.4A + 2.0A (3.6A max) Dual Port USB Car Charger for Apple Android and USB-Charing Devices - The First and Smallest Adapter to Provide Simultaneous, Full-Speed Charges to iPads and Smartphones [Black]

But I wish both ports could be "android". Seems most of these dual usb car charging devices always have a special ports for apple products for speed charging.
My wife and I only use android / pc products.

Would be nice if both ports pulled 2.4A at the same time

You need 2 Amp or greater. Those 1 Amp car chargers don't cut it. If you are using your Note 3 with a 1 Amp charger and as a SatNav it will gradually flatten itself.

I've already seen two 1 Amp chargers on Amazon.co.uk described as "for" the Note 3. They are unsuitable.

Also, sourcing a suitably flexible cable for car use is tricky if you want the USB 3-style newish plug.

As an aside, Samsung OEM wall chargers have just finally appeared in the UK.

I think the apple port just indicates which is the 2.4A side, the problem is that port is probably always 2.4A leaving the other at 1.2A with both devices attached. Mine is just 1.5A all the time and did ok for the EVO

ADDED:
Here is a car charger that puts out 2.1A per usb slot. Only catch is you will obviously need a shorted usb cable.

Yea, that anker one I posted will put out 2.0A for the android usb as long as there isn't anything plugged into the Iphone usb.

This is why direct wiring into your car's electrical is the way to go. I have done it before in my other vehicles because I was already redoing the electrical for added lighting etc. If you don't know how, go down to your local aftermarket stereo shop. They should know how to do it.

Isn't it that the Apple port has different wiring logic as their devices use non-standard wiring? I may be entirely wrong.

As far as I've read it just sounds like Apple has convinced everyone you NEED 2+ amps to charge, can use a 1.x charger it just takes FOREVER to charge even an Ipod nano at 1 amp. A couple engineers I know told me as far as they could find out from phone specs the phone can handle either without problems. But I didn't usually charge my EVO other than overnight or if I was streaming in the truck, my battery was slightly swollen but a new battery did not fix it so doubt that was defective. The charger that came with my Note is a 2.0A, as was my original Tab's, and the old EVO charger was 1.5A (maybe 8, it was worn and hard to read for sure)
