my Note 3.

Question for ya, which USB cable are you using to charge in the car? Do you mind posting a link to it? Also, does it charge as fast as the AC adapter does?

Most of the cables immediately available are too stiff and really meant for desktop hard drives. The OEM charger cable is much more flexible. I'm also trialling a curly cable.

I got cables with additional [UK] Samsung wall chargers which have good cables
Charger 1
Charger 2.
There'll be US ones around for sure.

You can also get these more flexible type cables from Chinese sites. I've bought from both.

Charge rate is good but dependant not on the cable so much as on the cigarette-lighter -> USB plug. This needs to be rated over 2 Amp. (There are a lot around that are only 1 Amp.)

Here is the integral curly cable charger but I'm not yet convinced it's 2 Amp.

Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone knows of any pouch cases without a belt clip on the back. I can't seem to find one. I'm not looking for the cases where the phone sits in a mold and you just throw the flap over it. I'm looking for something like this, minus the belt clip: Black Premium Leather Belt Clip Pouch Case for Samsung Galaxy Note III 3 | eBay

Thanks!

Is this what you're looking for:

Like the Sunsky. Not sure how easy it is to tell if its 2A. Personally, I've not gone on a longer road trip to see the effects of a weak charger. I'm still stunned/floor by how long the N3 stock battery lasts for what I considered moderate usage. Plug it in, and within close to 1 hour its mostly changed. Amazing.

Talking about the amFilm Premium (PET) Screen protector. First off, I didnt purchase one, but was send a package for the amFilm Premium (and Bye-Bye Bubble) to review. Below is my view of the product after using it for about 3 weeks.

Background:
Except for a Zagg PET protector for an HTC Touch Pro II, I never used any sort of screen protector. I am careful with my phone, and i like the feel of the native gorilla glass I had on my Droid Bionic. Having paid full price for the Galaxy Note 3, I felt compelled to protect it. Purchase the Spigen Slim Armour (Great case, different review). I was approached to trial the amFilm as I was on the fence about PET and tempered glass protectors.

Installation: Installation was easy, though it was my first time applying such a protector. My N3 screen was already perfectly clean as I never removed the film that covered the screen during shipping. I used the hinge method discussed in the instructions, and followed the youTube video. We simple enough, though the protector seemed slippery to me on the N3. I had some alignment issues and had you life up and let it down a few times. Despite best efforts, I had dust particles and decided that I couldnt live with them. Knowing I had two extras within the 3-pack, I lifted up and tried again. Did this perhaps three times. Overall happy with the alignment and no dust. During all this, two corners dont seem to lay completely flat, but also are not in the main viewing or SPEN areas, so no worries for me.

Comments:
- SPEN works just as good. Not plasticy drag.
- Clarity is perfect to me eye.
- Not observable degradation to camera or hand sensor, though the cutout could help
- protector does show smudges and finger prints. To me it shows alot. so you need to wipe it down
- Durability. There is a scratch or a flaw as in the correct light I can see a short vertical line which is discolored a bit I keep my phone in my pocket, so keys or change or some other common house item possibly did it. It wasnt there on initial install. Its minor but, my OCD notices it.
- took a small screwdriver and gently dragged it across, and that did scratch the protector. Then again its PET not tempered glass. Its a $5ish 3-pack. Keep that in mind.
- No worries on home button. protector is very thin

After three weeks, no air bubbles. Protector remained attached. It shows more fingerprints for my liking. Would love to compare to a tempered glass with an oleophobic coating. The two edges are still not flat in the Slim Armor, but are not getting worse.

Final view. For about $5, its not a bad deal. It does the job, and you get three per pack. If you dont want/need the protection for a $30 to $40 tempered glass, this seems like a grade-A choice.

Disclosure: I was provided a package of the Bye-Bye Bubble amFilm (PET) screen protectors, as well as the amFilm Premium. Already posted a review on the premium that I've been using for about 3 weeks. I do not work for techMatte or amFilm. Just a guy that was in the right place at the right time.

Whats in the box:
- 2 screen protectors
- 1 sheet of 5 dust removal/hinge sitckes
- plastic squeeze card
- install manual
- micro fiber cloth

Installation (Via hinge method):
Install was quicker, smoother than with the Premium. Perhaps I learned from my mistakes on the trial/error on the Premium install. Used 3 of the hinge tape stickers and was more careful to align all for sides of the protector equally across the face of the N3. protector is very slipper against the gorilla glass. VERY slipper. Once positioned, removed the back coating, slowly lowered, and the protector basically self adhered. Little need for squeegee. tiny bit in bottom right corner is not flat. will see if it goes away in a day. I used squeegee and it adheres only temporarily. Removed top protector and it looks flawless. I can't see a single dust particle. I'm told the difference between Bye-Bye Bubble and the Premium is that that bye-bye bubble will reply dust. It seems to have done that. Frankly my basement is dusty.

Results (early review):
- SPEN seems to drag a little against the display. This can occur on some PET protectors and improves over a day or so. We will see
- the Premium shows fngerprints, alot. Looks good now. We'll see after a few days.
- clarity is excellent
- fit. cut/sized nicely. All top sensors are open/free/clear.
- home button cut out is slightly oversized, not by must, but enough to notice if you look.
- thickness. the premium must be a little thicker. The home buttom is less pronounced, almost flush with the protector (not a bad thing for me)

Cheers!

I picked this up on sale for $25 a few days ago on Amazon and I've been very happy with it's performance so far. Last night I kept it plugged up to my T-Mobile Note 3 for 8 hours while at work watching videos and listening to music, My charge status stayed at 100% the whole time and I only used 1 out of the 4 power remaining indicator dots on the charger. This picture was taken with a small cup of coffee for scale but just to let you know for sure it will fit in your pocket. It is actually smaller but heavier than the Note 3. It comes with 4 power tips and the pouch you see in the picture. It has 5V 2A and 5V 1A USB ports as well as a miniUSB port for charing the battery of the charger. It does not come with a power plug of it's own but it works fine with the one that comes with the Note 3.

So, I took a chance on some products from a seller in China, just because pricing was so low. But, I personally feel the risk was worth the reward:

These cases are just as thin, if not thinner than the one I posted about previously. The bottom has a little more coverage, but doesn't cover the face portion of the bezel at the bottom. These also have a cutout on the upper right hand corner (I'm thinking maybe this is so that a radio signal doesn't get blocked because I can't figure out why it needs to be there).

Transparent White .3mm ultra thin case
White Ultra Thin 0 3mm Soft Matte Case Cover for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9000 | eBay

Thin Tempered Glass (cheapest price I've seen anywhere and it's perfect...even though it's a fingerprint magnet, which I don't mind so much)
Premium Tempered Glass Film Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 II N9000 | eBay

Lastly, I got a 3.0 OTG cable that works perfectly.

Got the Samsung USB Adapter recently. It's a very handy piece of kit for using regulat USB thumb drives with the Note 3. Should you get one don't worry that the box says Samsung Galaxy SII it still works withe the Note 3. I'm using it now to transfer 14GB of old time radio files from my Samsung 64GB MicroSD card to a Sandisk 64GB microSD card with a thumb drive adapter.

First time trying one of these (with my Note 3). The RavPower works just fine for an SDcard and transferring files two and fro but try as I might, I can't persuade it to work with an external drive - though the drive seems to fire up. The device doesn't seem to 'find' it. Any advice? I'm wondering if the problem is that the drive is Mac formatted?

I use 2Tb Western digital external drives.

Also software. RAV Filehub or Airstor and why?
